Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Cool footage. Definitly that busking tour was the best idea Joe had at the time retrospectively this group should have been called differently and that would surely have played in its favor. Personally I'm not attracted to this incarnation, but it's precisely because of that. because with joe as a ...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Incredible footage. Coming from York I've always been fascinated with the busking tour as it was the only time any lineup visited. I've tracked down the cd bootleg from York along with the interview Joe did on radio York, at the Sam Smith's boozer where we young Punks used to drink! Never thought an...

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

I believe I read on here a long time ago that the band played less of the music than I was expecting, like Paul not playing a lot of the bass lines, particularly the iconic ones like Mag 7. Can't remember all the details. Norman watt Roy played alot of the bass and Micky Gallagher played keyboards ...

Re: That was then this is now

Nice one cheers! It's been mentioned that when Generation X had their first album remastered couple of years back Tony James had his copy of the London SS tape remastered at the same time. Not that there's any intention to release it but at least it exists and has been preserved. Whoa! Surely if th...

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Was googling the meskies names to see what's been happening etc...and came across this featuring Pablo Cook and Joe's mate Keith Allen... Appologies if this has been shared before but it tickled me

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Fair play to Dark Horse, for all the gripes about high prices and not a huge amount of new audio, the packaging of both sets is very well done. And I prefer the CD to the vinyl version, the 'scrapbook' cover for the book looks nicer, and it looks like it replicates everything from the larger format...

Re: Arms Aloft In Acton Town

Just booked for me and our lass to go to this gig! Never seen any Clash related band and so this one is a must...worth the trip down from York. Fingers crossed a certain Mr Jones makes a suprise appearance but even if he doesn't it looks like a good lineup...will be doing the flipside tours Strummer...

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Before the 001 set Lucinda did a fair bit of promotion on various radio shows/podcasts etc....does anyone know of any for 002? I'm surprised none of the meskies themselves havent done any interviews etc... Not sure about broadcasts tbh but Luce did do a few press interviews when the release was ann...
