Re: A Song For Joe
This has been really fun to watch back! I had never heard of Jesse Dayton, but his version of Janie Jones is probably my favorite of the lot. The Interrupters' Get Down Moses is cool, too. Yeah, that version of Janie Jones was my favourite along with White Man by Frank Turner. I'm watching it again...

Dictator, because it has the privilege of coming first.

Re: Leaving out This Is England, what is your favourite song on CTC?
"North and South" has a certain lament or wistfulness that conveys more real emotion than anything else on the album. Grading on a curve is a helluva thing, tho. +1. North and South is in the neighborhood of good. The Ctc production was more merciful on the ballads. Honorable mention to We Are the ...

Re: London Calling Stats
Now London calling album is so good that 90% of the album could be in any order for me and I wouldn't disagree with the song rating at all. I do see however why Lovers Rock would get no points but Train in Vain ???? and Band New Cadillac how the hell did those two songs not get a single vote. My gu...

Dig the tracklist and the edits. Nice work!

Re: Secret Agent Man demo
Awesome find, I've been wanting to hear that original Streetcore tracklist for 10 years! The song itself isn't a lost classic or anything, but it's great to have. Awesome. 😎 Wonder if this was planned for a soundtrack or something. It sounds like it. It sounds almost like a wannabe Bond theme. I thi...

Re: ROUND 15 - THE FINALS - I
IH and MB are the only ones that stick out to me as not really worth serious consideration. All told, I think the group did a solid job in confirming the cream. While the format plays it's tricks, MB and IH may not be worth serious consideration (although, subjectively speaking, I strongly disagree...

Re: ROUND 14 - Wilderness Years Non-Album Tracks - SEMIFINAL
I was positive that I was gonna ride It's a Rockin' World into the finals for this division, but now that I might have to actually vote against US North, I'm pausing. Going to have to think on this one a bit. Meanwhile here I am voting for what is essentially a BAD song in the Strummer poll to keep...

Re: ROUND 12 - Wilderness Years Non-Album Tracks - SEMIFINAL
Meanwhile I’m vehemently voting for Cholo to survive as long as possible and I do not understand how Rocking World is esteemed that highly. It’s ok, I guess. My case for Rockin' World is: joyous lyrics, catchy chorus, you can actually dance and bounce around to it, a pure celebration of life and mu...

Re: ROUND 12 - Global A Go-Go - SEMIFINAL
I agree in a larger sense—that "savvy cynicism" is its own kind of cosmopolitan smugness—but it's not unfair to be skeptical of shallow cultural dabbling, especially if it's just about status (being hipper than thou). It's not what Joe was trying to convey, obviously, but it's not hard to read thos...

Ouch, I was gone a few days and Mondo Bongo looses to by a vote to Bummed Out City
To my ears BOC is the least interesting track on this album. Are y'all just fucking around voting it this far?
