Re: Who knows this promo cd single?

I was given an upload with artwork by another board member. As he kindly shared it with me I think it only correct to wait and see if he wants to share it further. Otherwise it stays where it is. The first track is the original single mix. Then the 2012 instrumental. Then two unreleased mixes by Mi...

Was there ever a tighter band?

Never bought me a drink that's for sure.

But yes they at least have equals in Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Blockheads in my opinion.

Re: The Clash observations thread.

I get the impression that the Clash have been raised up in to the Beatles/Stones/Who echelon of Greatest Bands of All Time, so namedropping them probably isn't as cool for the same reasons. They seem to have been removed from punk and moved to rock—almost establishment. 1970s punk has been ideologi...

Nick Kamen. I guess he was indirectly responsible for the Clash's only UK number 1 single. I heard that through the grapevine. ;) He had very good genes. He had 501 pairs. You win! I was trying to think of some more puns but they weren't very Original. 😎 now don't forget to button that fly.

Adrian Borland's punk band.
What's it like?
I already the had two albums from way back and I'm already a fan. It's got a more punky aggression than his later stuff but I really like it. All seems to be mastered nicely. A good addition.

Re: The Clash observations thread.

Re: The Manics. Were they really like The Clash? Early on they used the stencilled slogans on their clothes and offered a good line in polemics. But I always thought they were more like Generation X than The Clash. Their love of Guns 'n' Roses was the tell tell sign they were very different to The ...

https://riffmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Screen-Shot-2021-04-30-at-10.15.52-PM.png A Weezer record where Weezer perform Weezer songs. It has an 80s pop metal bent to it—mainly on the solos—but it's not all that distinct in any way. That's an awful album sleeve. Maybe that's the point. Oh...
