It's true I sold my soul for a Panic Report badge. Some people are easily bought.😉

Re: Sex Pistols

I am still fascinated by who was behind issuing the "Spunk" album. Dave Goodman had an acetate cut of the '76 Denmark Street demos/The Wessex Anarchy and No Fun takes and the January 77 takes from Gooseberry/Eden studio. However Dave was not behind the bootleg. McLaren was also not behind the bootl...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhKHAopx7D0&ab_channel=EpitaphRecords I would also put this Rancid track above that Bosstones track. https://youtu.be/PV1NwV7DrAc I wouldn't but another Ska Rancid track I love is Life Won't Wait. Hooligans ain't too shabby either. "Hooligans" is excellent. Hello, Al...

It ain't that good, but it's a seriously mesmerizing freak show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glgDZN3p1wM&ab_channel=sexpistolsliveee With all the shit being thrown at them it's amazing it sounds that good. Add to that a virtually non existent bass player in mind and ability. It really is a “in ...

Re: The Clash observations thread.

Agreed. Then leave SEH to open side 2. GEER was always too front-loaded. Should've found room for "Pressure Drop" on that album. And maybe The Prisoner and Jail Guitar Doors. Julie and Drug Stabbing time should have been the b-sides in 78. I really like "Julie". Me too, but it's lightweight in writ...

Re: Bosstones break up

I’ll miss them and their superlative cover of Detroit Rock City. Thank you for your service FWIW, I think "The Impression That I Get" was the second best Ska song of the 90s. They had some other great tunes too. Aye, they had some good 'uns. What was the first best ska song of the 90s by your recko...

Re: The Clash observations thread.

Tommy Gun would have been as equally perfect an opener to GEER as SEH. Agreed. Then leave SEH to open side 2. GEER was always too front-loaded. Should've found room for "Pressure Drop" on that album. Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

Yeah, some good versions, not least the original by Rufus Thomas. Only went for Gallagher as that's how i initially got to know the song. Stones do a pretty good one too if memory serves. Dr. Feelgood do a cracking version. And the very early version by The Jam. +1 on the Feelgoods. Quite possibly ...
