hey marky, cool stuff! do you know the story behind gallop your donkey? new to me.
it's not from the island hopping single.
I missed this comment first time around. There is no story really as I put it together myself. Just to have something new and slightly different to hear.

Hello,

The kids in the Ramones course told me this would be an easy class! I didn't know the teacher was so hard - he sure knows his stuff, though!

Re: The All Smiths/Morrissey Thread

I agree. The split was unjust, but I can't believe that it took years and years for the rhythm section to discover this. More likely knowing that as long as the band is rolling they could hold their tongue (to be a good team player, fear of being replaced), but once it was over, self-interest manif...

https://www.vulture.com/2023/05/andy-rourke-the-smiths-remembrance.html I enjoyed the read but I'm not sure I agree with this bit: When the guitarist got sick of the bickering in 1987, there was no one to mediate, just like there was no one pulling for fair contracts for the members who were shocke...

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

Tina Turner (RIP) Top 5.

1. River Deep Mountain High
2. Nutbush City Limits
3. Proud Mary
4. Ball of Confusion
5. Acid Queen

She sure played with some great musicians. Even John McGeoch on "Ball of Confusion".

It's all about etiquette.
"I don't like your tie."
"And I don't like your rye bread!"
"You won't be putting me off"
"You won't be putting the beat in The Beatles!"
"Where's me mayo!?!"
Mayo? You'll get a splat of brown and like it!!!

Hi Mark, I don't get anywhere near the chance I'd like to catch up on your remasters, so was pleased that you dropped this when I had the bandwidth to enjoy it. The Forbidden Track aside, the main issue with Earthquake Weather is that the songwriting and arrangements are too similar but the weaknes...

Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2023 Edition

No love for Pete's Best Sandwiches, which at its peak had shops in both Cardiff and Dover? I went to Pete's shop in Dover. I bought an Egg and Cress sandwich but I thought it was slightly over egged. And when I found out he didn't stock my favourite crisps I quickly left. So, George Martin's sandwi...
