Re: The Coolest Song of All Time

I'm not really sure I dig the idea of "The Coolest of All Time" sounds a bit nerdy to me. But this is one of the greatest.

....Bernie.... could never make up for the bucket of shit he threw over so much else I just love that line. It makes me laugh every time I read it  I wasn't consciously thinking of it, but it's the old Kelvin McKenzie line in relation to John Major. Seems very appropriate as throwing bucke...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

The energy and positivity and the fun are great. But all that leather give me a break. :meh:

Plus it feels like they are a gang and that was anything but the case when it came to the recording of CtC.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

PKM: Speaking of the Clash, how did you begin working on Sandinista? Ivan Julian: They basically came into town and set up shop at Electric Lady Studios, and they would park there for a month or two. They called me up and said “Just come by and say hello” so I said, “Yeah sure, I’d love to see you g...

Bringing this topic up as I've been listening to The Gift a lot recently. Still stand by what I say, Ghosts is one of my favourite songs ever, goosebumps every time.

Brilliant track mate.
Certainly a desert island disc for me.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

From the "Please Kill Me" website. The Clash requested that the band (Voidoids) open for them. “They had heard Blank Generation and they really liked it,” said Julian. “We met them during soundcheck. I met Topper (Headon) and Mick (Jones) and Joe (Strummer) — they were sweet guys. I became friends w...

What about Mad(ness)? No hats for them, they're yesterday's men! What an embarrassment. (Oh no! A Marky has broken out!) Best shut up or things could get a bit nutty round here very quickly! Tagging out to someone better versed than me! I leave for a few minutes and the classroom has turned into a ...

Maybe it's The Good, The Bad, & The King? By law, do all old Queen records now have to be retitled King? Dead Queen - Killer Dead Queen. Weird legal system over there. We have the finest legal system in the world. By "legal system" I mean meat pies. http://www.clashcity.com/boards/download/file.php...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Sigh. What could have been. Maybe in another timeline. Fucking amazing. Gives me hope for a full 84 show. We can't even get a full '80 show. We did get an abridged greatest hits show without the classic lineup 14 years ago. Fuck, was Shea 14 years ago? Damn... October 1982. I wish it was 14 years a...
