101’ers article finally sees the light of day
From the great Trouser Press magazine, which is back in (limited) online business. Apologies if everyone already has seen this:

Re: NEW JOE STRUMMER ANTHOLOGY?
Thanks, Marky and C1ashCityRockr.
Maybe that Rough Trade site is where I got mistaken idea about the cassette in the deluxe version. They say "Cassette (previously unheard and unreleased U.S North (Basement Demo)."

Re: NEW JOE STRUMMER ANTHOLOGY?
Pardon if these are obvious: *Unfortunately I slept on pre-ordering the deluxe set. Amazon says it's got nothing, and the shipping from the Ignition folks is more than $50? Will Amazon have it again/is there another buying option for deluxe in the U.S.? *Alternately: The 2CD with book is available h...

Re: the unlikely musical source for Jimmy Jazz?
That sounds right. There certainly are lots of blues songs that share chord progressions. It's still kind of cool that a genre-breaking funk rock band and a genre-breaking punk rock band both landed on this same sound and came away with their own great songs. Thanks, TeddyB.

the unlikely musical source for Jimmy Jazz?
A thousand pardons if this has been brought up elsewhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGJXKd_BMvY&index=7&list=PL6F302F6CA24FC1C4 George Clinton and Funkadelic. Someone in the YouTube comments section made the connection. We know Joe must have been a P-Funk fan, as "you can't pull a hold-up with...

Re: Joe & The Pogues album
I imagine everyone's heard of this already, but just in case: the Joe & the Pogues album gets released as a 2LP set on Record Store Day. The link below has audio for If I Should Fall at the bottom of the page: http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2014/04/16/303396052/record-store-day-premieres-from-spr...

Re: Joe's voice
One of my favorite Joe vocals is on Revolution Rock, which strikes me as being such a great, soulful performance. I think it took a lot of confidence for a one-time punk growler to really nail that kind of wide-open vocal ... and I think he lost that confidence for awhile after the Clash broke up. H...

Help with World Service 2000 Joe radio shows
I've been able to download the '98 and 2001 Joe radio shows (and a big thanks to all for having them posted) -- but I have had troubles trying to get the three World Service 2000 radio shows: I download them from MegaUpload to my Mac OsX and open them with Unarchiver. But when I click on the opened ...

I'm also one for old-fashioned trades of DVDs. I'd be happy to trade and/or burn copies for folks in the U.S.
