In Florida the cops would bust us for drinking and take Polaroid of us and laugh. We had everybody against us, ...

Earthquake Weather

No, not the tepid album by Joe Strummer but a real earthquake just hit NYC! Never lived through that before, it was so scary. I don't know how people can live in California!

Re: The Beatles song you're thinking about right now thread

Watched that semi-recent documentary series about Lennon's murder over the last couple days. Informative to the degree that I really knew very little about the murder beyond the basics. My Beatles love never took me to that level of inquiry. That said, it was a bit flat in terms of impact. I came a...

Re: AI-yi-yi

I've used AI to remix certain albums, like MC5 Back in the USA, normally sounds thin and lame, but I found a bass stem, boosted it, added some effects to the guitars and made a the Killer album it always was and should have been. Re: I can't stand the blues

Ahh shit, been getting back deep into the blues. Old pre-war shit and the delta blues revival stuff that Fat Possum was digging up for years. I think the first blues CD I ever owned may have been R.L. Burnside's Mr. Wizard. This track is still a fuckin' banger after all these years: https://www.you...

Re: I can't stand the blues

I can appreciate it and accept it as an art form, but I still don't like blues or jazz. Speaks nothing to me. Now reggae is a different story, I've been hooked on Reggae since I first saw the movie poster to The Harder They Come, let alone the movie. Reggae speaks volumes to me and I can relate. It ...
