Re: The Coronavirus Thread Of Good News

Still feeling normal maybe I got a placebo. So now that you dont require a mask if you are fully vaxxed how do you know the person next to you isnt just an anti-mask/anti-vax ? Also my daughter pointed out that she's seen fully vaxxed and people who had it and got vaxxed come in with Covid. Granted...

Re: Greatest Album of 1979 - Preliminary Round 1

Hello,

I thought there was a Lithuanian release of Lodger on red vinyl only sold in record stores with odd (as opposed to even) street addresses in 1978 - that would disqualify it.

Re: A Bunch of Fives (New Challenge Thread)

Hello, Sharon Jones - She has enough soul to save half of all FIFA administrators (no one has enough soul to save them all). Great start 9/10 Black Joe Lewis - I've been a fan for a long time. He has a funky uniqueness/unique funkiness about him. This is one of my favorite tracks. 10/10 Kat Wright -...

Re: The Future of the Republican Party

This guy's website has a special section to address the dead woman found in his bathtub. https://www.perutoforda.com/meet_a_charles I learned more about her after she died by reading an investigative article done by Philadelphia Magazine, written by Lisa DePaulo, which opened my eyes. The pen is in...

Re: The New Ska Thread

Hello, I just listened to the full Mighty Mighty Bosstones album and it's good but not as energetic as some previous albums. I don't agree with the sweeping nature of RockNRollWhore's statement - it's correct but I just think they evolved to an extent. I think this one's more contemplative. There's ...

All this reminds me of is that I made a thread for this topic with the perfect crossover name for this board. I hate you all.
Hello,

I apologize as this isn't new ska - you're correct. We actually need a ska-at-large thread. Does one exist?

Re: The Great Thread of YouTube Magnificence!

I've always wanted to start a Duran Duran tribute band (yes, I am a pretty big Duranie). I once listened to an episode of Sound Opinions where they had someone from the Moog Museum who kept trashing 80's synth pop musicians. His implication was they they were all novices who couldn't really play, b...

Re: The New Ska Thread

I'm more of a fan of traditional and Two Tone Ska but I fucking love this song. I can't remember who put me on to it on here but thank you. Joyous video as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNbj-5Xecg4&list=PL6ggjMklzIx2cJrZOJZBWTCuYhHZ22T8x&index=76&ab_channel=theresignators Hello, I posted th...

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?

Hello, The Buzzcocks - A Different Compilation. This is similar to the Gang of Four's Return the Gift - re-recording of early tracks. There's definitely a different feel to these tracks than the originals - a bit rougher, their voices have aged, and it sounds a bit more aggressive/live. It's a good ...

Re: The Clash observations thread.

I guess it depends on what company you keep. My mates/friends are my age and aware of the importance of the band. My son loves the band and has shared stuff with friends from his age group and they have all come back positive. That said were they ever considered a "trendy" band. Like they don’t hav...

Re: The Clash observations thread.

The Clash don’t really seem to be as trendy to namedrop as other rock bands of their stature. Kind of odd. Idk maybe I’m rambling Yeah, I definitely get that vibe as well. I wonder if it's a weird thing where people who discover/love the band in their adolescence (which is where the most enduring b...

Hello, I think I posted this elsewhere about the Flaming Lips. It's pretty clever but hard to pull off. I'd go. https://www.nbcnews.com/now/video/the-return-of-live-music-the-flaming-lips-hold-space-bubble-show-at-oklahoma-city-venue-101775429536?fbclid=IwAR29anyKAqMhJOISZMbbpLTMZ6sZf6Ixpbl3NrxLcEeL...
