Re: Got Any Cool Vinyl?
Actually a lot of contemporary vinyl is pressed from masters created specifically for the medium - companies offering mastering services always offer a vinyl option. Any indie band / label who take pride in their releases can opt for it. It's the major labels who are the culprits, reissuing back-cat...

PS yes, nice soundtrack remix too from Bazarboy. I see now why you were asking for this in the other thread.

Re: Combat Rock Album Cover Location in Bangkok
Some interesting chat here. For me, the 1st album and Rope are classic designs - 1st LP a perfect tie-in with punk DIY fanzine vibe (I'm a sucker for that typewriter font) and Rope being just weirdly captivating and arty in a truly post-punk way. Although I always felt SLIGHTLY short changed that th...

Re: Ellen Foley The Shuttered Palace (single edit)
The single edit is on Youtube, and there's a bit of French spoken at the end ... can't remember if that's on the LP version.
I've never heard of a French version outright, though

Re: Happy Birthday, Marky!
It was a nice day. Went to the seaside town of St. Ives about half an hour on the train. Senior railcard now in operation.😉 Senior citizen benefits kicking in at 60 are brilliant! Discount rail travel, discount admission to things, free prescriptions, eye tests... it almost makes the nocturnal need...

Re: THE LAST TESTAMENT OF GUY STEVENS
I wasn't aware of this trick, thanks! I tried "Goof Off" once but it did a number on the plastic, left it kind of cloudy. I've always used lighter fuel. [/quote] I found a tutorial online, they recommended lightly sanding the sticker first to allow the lighter fluid to penetrate the adhesive backin...

Re: THE LAST TESTAMENT OF GUY STEVENS
I'd have the thrill of finding something I'd been looking for forever and then the dread of peeling off the price sticker and having some of the glossy sleeve come with it. I wish this forum had a 'like' button. Discovering the solvent qualities of lighter fuel/ fluid has preserved so many purchase...

Re: Clash - The Singles Box Japan Disc 9 - The Cost of Living EP
I've got both the UK and Japanese singles box sets and can confirm the mastering is identical on both. The Japanese editions often had better masterings in the past. But not in the case of the singles box sets. Interesting info, thanks Marky. Weird that the Japanese still went to the effort of addi...
