The trouble with tapes is what generation you got some were copied ad infinitum.
...which often caused speed issues too. My beloved tape of the Clash Agora Ballroom Feb 1979 played too fast - which wasn't too bad apart from Joe's spoken word bits!

Re: Cassette boots

Ah, I remember the thrill of seeing this sort of thing on market stalls and at record fairs.... usually sold for about £3, while bootleg LPs (if you could find them) were £10-12. Happy days.
I admire the (ahem) reboots of these classic bootlegs - they look great.

Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2024 Edition

Yeah, Mr Harley made some great records! Everyone remembers Come Up & See Me of course, but Mr Soft and Judy Teen were catchy and quirky enough to lodge firmly in my childhood memory bank, and sound great to this day.
RIP Steve.

Got to head to my local brewery by myself and enjoy a few beers and some uninterrupted reading (yeah, I'm that guy at the bar) and then the missus hosted my traditional birthday evening of "chicken and a movie." A good rejuvenating day.
Sounds perfect to me! Belated birthday greetings.

Re: Mick solo Palladium NY 281091 RESTORED

I hate to be the obsessive moaning nerd again, but the first song Innocent Child appears twice at the start of Seb's original post. Not a complaint, merely an observation! I'm sure it can be fixed to make one master version (there's a wee bit of extra chat at the start of one which is missing on the...

Re: Meet Johnny Green

Yes, a nice anecdote about Johnny Green, Romolo. And I too have a copy of 'A Riot of our Own' which is signed by him in green ink! - yes, it must have been his trademark. My copy was bought from Helter Skelter books in London, a great rock and roll music bookshop based in the old Regent Sound studio...

Re: Marky's new remasters thread

I've started to get anxious if I don't check in to this thread every day or so, in case I miss anything. Exhibit 'A' - a completely unexpected Marky box set! Thanks, as ever Marky - I haven't heard the album in years - just sampling the singles set, and enjoying hearing the vocals on 'Man with the D...

RIP Wayne - what a shock. He seemed to be in good shape, compared to many of his contemporaries.
I was too young to be a 'real time fan' in his MC5 heyday, but am so glad I saw him on the MC50 tour.
Still with the stars and stripes Strat, and with all the stage moves and sounds intact. Just brilliant.

Re: Trippers Tokyo DVD

Yeah, I remember Chiz/Tripper's restoration being a cause of much excitement at the time - was it really 2005?! I think she also worked wonders on a Mont de Marsan Festival 1977 DVD - syncing up the full length audio to the partial video, adding still photos etc in the gaps (a bit like the restored ...
