Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Love it - classic comedy when Joe hangs upside down from the gate and then the two doors open! Also, sounds great - somehow makes me hate Bernie/Cut the Crap even more. Finally, shout out to Ralph - I finally read the final chapters of We Are The Clash this summer and I've got to say how much I love...

Re: Combat Rock 40th anniversary reissue coming soon?

Yeah, if the remaining principles decided that they couldn't release this incredible archival (i.e. Rat Patrol and any other mixes or alt takes lying around) product because of the spat from decades ago with a deceased band member, it's seems downright shameful they decided to ignore their own actu...

Re: B.A.D. Observations Thread

Totally out of time on this but just read that in a 2003 review in Q this song was compared to BAD (not an every day thing), and having just listened to it for the first time, its a good observation!

Also, it would appear Blur fans don't care for it much.

Love me some Up (and also the slow stuff on Green). Up starts terribly but Hope, Sad Professor, Walk Unafraid, Why Not Smile, Day Sleeper, Diminished, Falls to Climb all so good, and a breath of fresh air after the rock band pose of much of Monster and New Adventures. Life Rich Pageant and few notab...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

I'll tell people I dont know what Adele sounds like, which is basically true. Then they play a song and my opinion is reinforced but I still don't really hear something that makes me say oh that's an Adele song other than it being boring and overproduced but that can be said for a lot of people. Yo...

Re: Combat Rock 40th anniversary reissue coming soon?

On third thought, KC, you do have a point. Why did I say anything? The announcement is imminent. Everyone will have their own thoughts as to its value or lack there of. I am sorry I commented. And yes, it was the group’s choice not to release Rat Patrol. Hey Teddy - hope you understand how apprecia...
