Topper to Join ex-Motorhead Eddie Clarke and Pete Way - NME, August 1982

I didnt know about this. Brief article in August 28, 1982 issue of NME. Topper joined Eddie Clarke and Pete Way for the early rehearsals of what would become the band, Fastway.

Great story anf thanks for sharing.

A friend of mine saw them in Worcester in 1984 and echoed alot of the same things you mentioned - just a ton of energy on the stage. Would have loved to have seen that run thru the States.

Re: What is your ideal alternative history Clash?

- GEER has Pressure, Groovy and Gates instead of Cheapskates, Guns on the Roof, and ECR. - LC has Armagideon instead of Lovers Rock. - S! has Bankrobber (or Robber Dub) instead of Hitsville. - No return of Bernie. - Topper gets clean and stays in the band. Hard to imagine a proper follow-up to Comba...

This just got posted on rlsbb ( https://rlsbb.to/uncut-the-ultimate-music-guide-the-clash/ ) last week so I assumed it was either new or an updated re-print. Do you know if that Mick Jones introduction is new or is that ...
