Re: TCRS PRESENTS - DIGGIN' THE NEW - THE LOST JOE STRUMMER / RICHARD NORRIS TAPES

Wow, it's been some year for hidden treasures, fantastic reworkings by Gerald and high quality remasters/ art work by Marky.

Who would have thought that Clash world would have so much activity in 2021.

Re: Welcome To Badrock City

Marky, I've been listening to this comp a lot. It's a great mix from the classic BAD line up. Very enjoyable, thank you.

Re: Dark Horse releases - 'Assembly' 2LP

Hey, sorry if my ears have mislead anyone. The EQ of the master does make the mix sound fuller. As I don't know what Mick played I should have not speculated if it had been remixed or not, whoops! There does seem to be some good work going on soundwise for this compilation though. It's an enjoyable ...

Re: Dark Horse releases - 'Assembly' 2LP

I'm sure the album has had work across the board. Little things just seem different to me. Maybe Joe's solo efforts will get more high end treatment.

I do hope Mick's post Clash work, gets similar attention from a record label one day.

Re: Dark Horse releases - 'Assembly' 2LP

Positive review from Pitchfork: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/joe-strummer-assembly/ "Other highlights include the dyspeptic pop of “Love Kills,” which bares more than a passing resemblance to Mick Jones’ brilliant-post-Clash outfit Big Audio Dynamite." As Mick plays on this can you hear him...

Re: Dark Horse releases - 'Assembly' 2LP

Not had a lot of time to check the album out today, but I think there might be a slight remix as well as remastering going on.
Paul Hicks has got quite a decent CV including The Beatles.

Has anyone else heard the album yet, it is on Spotify.

Re: Welcome To Badrock City

Just one more thing, the Megatop tracks sound really punchy.
Union Jack and Rewind sounded great pumped up.

It was quite exciting back when the album was originally released, to hear Mick playing noisey guitar again, especially on Union, Jack. Cheers Marky.

Looking forward to the vinyl arriving on Friday. I wonder if the tracks have been remastered without being brick walled.

Re: Welcome To Badrock City

Thank you Marky for another amazing selection.
Nice fade on Around the Girl and in to Limbo The Law.

Around the Girl In 80 Ways would have been a brilliant single in the UK.

Re: Guitar Slinger Slinging Secret Agent Man confusion

I think Joe wrote the lyrics to Sammy Davis City and Ghost Radio on the same album. Very Joe lyrics too.

Another Setzer Strummer composition is on the album Ignition,
