Re: Bonds Footage

First time I'm seeing the Bond's June 2nd footage and it's AMAZING!! I haven't seen any footage beside that is which shown in the Westway movie and the Mag7 video. Such a tight performance, definitely a good night to film. Thank you for bringing these up, needed to be watched!

Re: It's Easy Being Bernie

So do we reckon Bernie thought he was onto something new with this atrocity? I wonder what inspired his madness. Those samples and electronic drums. Who on earth did he the "The Clash" were competing with, BAD? The premise wasn't wrong (tho perhaps/probably wrong for The Clash; I lean to probably) ...

Re: Combat Rock 40th anniversary reissue coming soon?

My favorite part of that video, Joe ripping off Mick's face covering. Always got a laugh out of me, the surprise on Mick's face and how well he kept going with the song. I remember reading somewhere a while ago about the story of Mick and why he was wearing that and all I thought was how Mick Jones...

Re: Mohawk Revenge is now Hardcore Clash Only

Lazy, two chord vamps based in long-exhausted idioms isn't evolving, its devolving. Song fragments that putter along without hooks, energy or dynamics is hippie Boomer wank, not musical progress. Eight minute fake jazz noodling is hippie Boomer wank. No one back then but Mick and a handful of indus...

This book will in fact be one of the most books in the world.
I want that as a blurb right on the front cover.

Re: Bernie's book

Unlistenable and unreadable! You're supposed to only read every other letter, that way you can read the bass the little better. The problem is all those letters and fonts and colours thrown in the text for no good reason. That's the way it's supposed to be mixed! In fifty years, this book will be a...

Still no mention of the book on the supposed publisher's site. Shocking, I say, shocking!

Re: Combat Rock 40th anniversary reissue coming soon?

Having just given it a listen on Spotify, I can finally form an opinion. I've tried to keep my mind totally open and neutral. And my verdict is: Jesus it is underwhelming. It is nice to have the Futura 2000 demo in good quality as an official release now, and the new KYR and He Who Dares sounds good...

Re: Boots Galore - The Request Line

Hello all, I was hoping someone here had The Clash's 1982 Melbourne Festival Hall concert (02-23-1982), the full tape known as "Koka Kola", as described on BMC? I've heard good things about this gig and it has some of my favorite songs on it. Thank you!

Yeah, I do. Why? :shifty:
It's for a friend in need.
Ugh, friends. Double ugh, needy friends.

Re: New 1984 Master - Davenport 20 May 1984

Junco Partner is the only live song I ever enjoy mark 2 playing more than the real Clash lineup Curious, which Junco Partner are you comparing from the first Clash lineup? I always thought the JP from January 27th, 1982 at Nakano Sun Plaza was out of this world. Mick could always make those songs s...
