Re: 'Combat Ready' book
Got this book as a Christmas read. Nice concept to have a book about the band's most commercial period.

Fair play Teddy and Chris. I'll concede to your collective experience.
Thank you for your considered responses.

Re: What's in store for 2014?
Fair points Chris. But I suppose if the band have had enough of preparing product, it is time for them to pass the baton over. We have all been wishing for various projects over the years, you would hope a live series wouldn't put anyone's nose out of joint. I know you and other members have enthuse...

Re: What's in store for 2014?
I can print up some t-shirts: "Marky Dread At The Controls" on the front, and "The Sub-Pro Master" on the back. Anyone got a photo of Marky in profile? If his parole officer is on here, could they please PM me a a copy his mugshot? :shifty: Bio, I'm d(r)ead serious here mate! Who did the remaster/t...

Re: The Bunker Studios
Thanks Teddy. I was curious to see how Mick found the studio and what it had been before. Having rehearsed and played in and around Acton in the 80's, I hoped it was somewhere I knew. Do Mick and Tony still write together at The Bunker?

Re: Montgomery Spliffed RIP
Sad news. Calum's Carbon Silicon videos caught the joy of Mick and Tony's return to live music and he used to share these on his website. Kindest regards to his family. RIP Monty.

Re: What's in store for 2014?
Agreed it doesn't have to be a physical product. No of us are getting any younger and the chances of anything other than remasters again is highly unlikely. I for one would like to see any available soundboards or multitracks released in the best sound possible, but it wouldn't bother me if it was a...

Re: What's in store for 2014?
I think a pre Sandinista live cd would be a more energetic listening experience.
Even a good compilation from Topper's time in the band would be great. Maybe he could curate it.

Re: The Bunker Studios
Don't remember any other studio names from that time. I was just curious to see if Mick's studio was in that general area.
I see that Triple X was a 24 track studio, Which was something I 'd forgotten. Thanks for the link, nice to see a few name bands on the list.

The Bunker Studios
What was the original name for the studio that became The Bunker. Back in the 80's there was an 8 track place called Triple X, based in Acton.
Also there was a big rehersal place called Survival in and around the same industrial estate, I wonder if Mick had used that at any stage of his career.

Maybe there could be a proper Topper Clash live CD.

Re: Clash II Book Coming Soon...Summer 2013
I think the same reasons that makes this such a good book to write & read are the ones that'll make it difficult. Letts and Townshend are good enough mates with people who would rather everyone would just stop asking about this era. I think, anyway. Good point, I'm being too naive sorry. Good luck ...

Re: Clash II Book Coming Soon...Summer 2013
Thank you Ralph for coming back with answers so quickly. I suppose it makes sense that the band do not want Bernie to profit from any retrospective from this period. The abdication of creative control by Joe, speaks volumes about the situation within the Clash camp, and the misery of working with Be...
