Re: Nostalgia: US Fest video

That list reminds me of all of the great cdr & dvdr swaps I used to make with several members in this group back around 2007 - 2011. I remember in particular when the Paris 1980 concert was broadcast on tv in France and all it took was for one member to record it and share it and before long most of...

Re: Rude Boy Soundtrack Cassette

I believe much of the ‘Rude Boy - The Director’s Cut’ bootleg cd (Snotty Snail label) is sourced from this Rude Boy Soundtrack cassette.

Re: Vanilla Tapes Question

I thought I had read somewhere that the tape that Johnny Green lost in the subway after he fell asleep was from a different session than on the cassette that Mick found while cleaning out his garage. Anyways, I’ve been on this forum long enough to remember the sheer anticipation everyone on here had...

Re: official Lewisham tracks

Would be an obvious dub from the two promo stereo videos recorded at Lewisham. I believe Clampdown from Lewisham was also released on one of those MoJo Magazine cds.

Re: whats the best book on the clash?

‘A Riot Of Our Own’ by Johnny Green is definitely my favorite Clash book, although it isn’t the book you would want for a definitive history on The Clash.

Re: The Clash Live

So what exactly is this? No doubt sourced from the video dubs.

Ray Gange pops up from time to time in that FB group too! I believe he was actually selling t-shirts on there not too long ago.

Re: New Blog Post by The Baker

I really enjoyed that! Great to see it from Baker’s perspective and how lucky are we that the film crew for Rude Boy actually caught a nice snippet of this historic event!

Re: First bootleg you heard

The Snotty Snail label bootleg cd set called ‘This Is Radio Clash’, which contains the Bonds ‘81 fm stereo radio broadcast as well as some other miscellaneous stuff.

Re: Rude Boy

So would the audio source for the Snotty Snail label “IFTL” bootleg cd be untampered with or does it include overdubs as well?

Re: Rude Boy dubbing

I remember in one of the interviews with the Rude Boy director at the end of the soundtrack bootleg cd, he claimed that the overdubs were very minimal, saying they were no more than there would be on a regular live album release.

Re: The Clash Chicago 1979

This is probably the live Clash recording that I listen to the most - it would be awesome if an upgrade from the master ever came into circulation.

Thanks for the info! I had no idea they had ever played English Civil War with Mick on acoustic.

Mick Jones playing acoustic guitar live with The Clash in 1979

I just saw a pic on Facebook of Mick playing an acoustic guitar on stage with The Clash in Dallas 1979. I never knew Mick played an acoustic guitar live with The Clash - which song or songs would it have been?
