Re: Greatest Album of 1979 - Preliminary Round 2

Lot of good/great albums struggling to gain traction but I think One Step Beyond is being overlooked - My Girl, Night Boat, One Step Beyond, Madness, The Prince are all top, top level tunes. Perhaps struggling because, despite that, its still the second best ska album on the list? Overrated or over...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

I think Everlong is pretty. Erm. I like the one about no one getting out of there alive. Not too inspired by them otherwise, but I want to like em.

Re: Greatest Album of 1979 - Preliminary Round 2

London Calling is my favorite album of all time and for some reason I want it to lose. Yeah. Crass, Madness, Specials, Ruts. I legit prefer Entertainment!, Metal Box, Unknown Pleasures, and 154 intellectually and aesthetically. But I'm not as much a straight-up rock fan as most are here (I'm more a...

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?

This right now. I won a £25 quid amazon for winning Employee of the Month (which is hilarious, considering I hate my job and any job) so I ordered this to join Highway 61 Revisited on vinyl. Just played the first side, sounded fucking fantastic. The Dylan obsession is in full bloom this month. Next...

The Ruts - The Crack

One of the finest albums released in '79.

The debut from The Undertones is another quality album.
I second the Ruts.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread Of Good News

Good news in the UK the other day, no deaths from Covid. About 70% of adults have had vaccine. The fucking NHS is the only good thing about England.
