Re: Getting rid of threads

Appreciate and understand what you fellas are up to with the thread, helping the board and its members. Regardless of the source of those images and videos, I find it distasteful to see the levity among the ongoing atrocities. Not asking anyone to change their behaviour for my sake, there are really...

Re: The Great Thread of YouTube Magnificence!

Another video I'm playing a bit of tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZIzD0ZfTFg I'd largely forgotten how skilled he was at conveying barely contained rage and contempt. The whole thing reminds me of the venom in Rotten's voice when he sings, "We're the future, your future." His voice work...

Re: The Most Hated Song - 1990s - Round 11

Who's voting for Angels? Jesus christ... I shudder at the kind of person who would seriously regard that song as meaningful and touching and all that kind of stuff. It achieves being maudlin, empty, and generic all in equal measures. One of the most played songs at British funerals. I guess the mou...

Re: The Most Hated Song - 1990s - Round 11

This has always been a Pearl Jam board and Kory is our cackling dark god. And somehow it's going to get even worse. It's getting closer and closer to someone making an argument for Bryan Adams. Really speedran from ignorance to neutrality to interested disgust to hate on Pearl Jam's Last Kiss. Stic...

Re: Getting rid of threads

I won't be doing that response in the Tel Aviv thread, I'm just gonna finally treat it like the thing's been locked. Nobody would benefit from hearing a bunch of stuff I reckon on a subject I know little about. I don't know if my position of "Love Jews, Hate Israel" is tenable, but discussing it fur...

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

It's crazy that Toploader, who I first heard do Dancing in the Moonlight, would be one of Phil Spector's last productions.

I just double checked and, no, it's Starsailor, a similarly uninteresting band from the same time. Am I going to post this? Let's find out together.

Pearl Jam are so bad they disgust me. Bette Midler this time I suppose. This is getting trickier.
I'm getting fascinating by that track. I keep remembering it as having something about it and then the vocal totally repels me.
Bette or Pearl?
Pearl.
