Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
I really liked the last one too and I think it's going to be the thing that finally kick starts me into reading Neil Gaiman stuff. I can't decide if I want to start with Neverwhere or American Gods though... I thought Suranne Jones really did nail playing the TARDIS, all manic and brilliant and the ...

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
I'm in complete agreement. I just hope that there are some lighter moments and episodes so it's not super creepy all the time. Especially since there's going to be lots of creepy unanswered questions in the back of my mind while I'm watching. The pirates ep looks like it should be pretty fun though...

Re: Misfits
I felt like it was just as good as the first season. It got a little more complicated and kind of examined the powers more, I guess, but not to the point that it changed the tone or anything. Oh, and the new probation worker is pretty great.

Re: Misfits (not the band)
I'm reviving this thread because I just watched all the episodes and love it. It's like Heroes but all the characters are much more interesting anti-heroes and rarely 'do the right thing'. It also has a much better soundtrack and the powers are more unusual/weird. I definitely thought Ian Curtis the...

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
Enjoyed the Christmas special, it was a nice take on Dickens old classic, maybe a tad schmaltzy but allowable due to the time of year, the Great White coming through the wall did make me jump a bit and Matt Smith continues to impress, roll on the new series  Don't know much about the old t...

Re: R.I.P. Joe
Me too. I remember when and where I got the news. And how shocked I was. Still saddens me deeply. RIP Joe. Yea, I remember it so vividly. I can't believe it was 8 years ago. I posted this on SNews. It came up on my Tumblr dash one day. It's so beautiful (The X-Mas card Joe drew from TFIU): http://2...

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
I finally started watching Sherlock because I'm still computer challenged and it's been on PBS and I really like it, unsurprisingly. I don't think I've ever seen Martin Freeman in anything serious and it's cool to see him be still kind of bumbling but also a little badass. Shallowly I love his and S...

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
I like the season finale eps too, though a lot of people despise the end to S3. A lot of people are doofuses. I think the end of S3 works absolutely fine when placed in the context of Waters of Mars and End of Time . I can see how some might find it excessive, but that gets remedied. EDIT: i.e., it...

Re: Whatcha reading?
I've been reading South American novels with chapters that are like 50 pages and now I just started Jane Eyre which just had 3 chapters in like 25 pages, major gear shift. I also am going to star Slapstick soon.

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
Due to shitty computer issues I'm back on BBCA's schedule. I kind of don't mind though because this way I get to drag it out more and True Blood's back so it's not like there's nothing else awesome to watch.
I can't wait for the Van Gogh episode!

I like tennis... So do I http://www.spanishvida.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/feliciano_lopez_012.jpg But yea, I watched most of this match and I still kind of can't believe just how crazy it was. That's what happens when you get two really tall guys who can serve ridiculously but can't break. Mah...

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
fuckin' Spitfires in Space... Despite being groggy to the point of incoherence, I remember that bit. It was fucking awesome. That was my favorite part two. At the very least it was much better than the last Dalek period piece. I'd take multi-colored daleks over human-dalek squid heads any...

I concur. The new episode, doctor and companion were all really great.
