Re: So what's your concert schedule looking like?

Yeah I've seen them a few times too, at summer festivals that I can't really remember. Another annoying thing that happened is during the Circle Jerks set, mid-song, one of the Pennywise guys stood on the side of the stage to watch them (I could tell by the hat, yes). The crowd starts cheering. The...

Saw Circle Jerks the other night. Left before Pennywise came on.
Solid choice. Also why are CJ opening for pennywise? Seriously.
It was rather annoying. Pennywise fans with their back to the stage talking to each other during the CJ set too

Re: Strummer@70

I was 20 when Joe died, so 50 was too soon but still felt 'old' to me.

Now I'm 40 and 50 is only 10 years away, makes it more real.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

I imagine it was some kind of crank call? They would have been listening to it in the 'bunker', then I imagine a few people being in on it. Maybe it was recorded through the desk. Pretty funny that it's a real call.

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Good post, think i would share the majority of those observations. I like SAM a lot and while the demos are nothing particularly special, I'm just happy to have them. Cool N Out is probably the stand out for me. Really dig the baritone sax throughout and the lines from Tony Adams are interesting, s...

Re: Who wants to take care of the lossless 83 demos?

I grabbed a copy of this too but I don't think I'll have the expertise to do anything with them. Lots of distortion in the low end.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

I believe I read on here a long time ago that the band played less of the music than I was expecting, like Paul not playing a lot of the bass lines, particularly the iconic ones like Mag 7. Can't remember all the details.

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Marky, are the problems with brickwalling associated with Assembly and 002, a trend in remastering? Paul Hicks seems to have an impressive CV and he remastered both projects. I haven't played my cd's yet and I must admit my hearing is knackered. The book is a lovely item full of lyric sheet reprodu...

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Awesome. I am buying it on vinyl (hasn't arrived yet) and was just listening through spotify, so can't really gauge the mastering.

The demo versions seem better because they are more stripped back.
