Re: RIP 101 Walterton

Quite shocked and saddened. I saw the post a day or two ago with someone wondering where he was and had a twinge. Just... wow.

Re: Texas Tour '83

The US Festival performance was after the Bernie and Kosmo press conference shenanigans. Mick was mortified at their treatment of people.

Re: The Clash observations thread.

Was rewatching the Know Your Rights mixing video and was thinking about just how many takes this song went through. Of what we know of, there's the video, an alt version that Marky had put on his Rat Patrol mix, the version on Rat Patrol, then of course the Combat Rock final version. The common thi...

Re: Lewisham soundboard

I thought I’d posted recently on this. The basic premise is that Mick and Paul prepared Sound System, and the same masterings were used at two lower prices: the five album pink box and The Clash Hits Back, where they tried to do something different with yet another greatest hits. Ten years back it wa...

Re: Clash Live Series (Only an idea)

As many issues as there are with FHTE, it is still my favorite official live Clash document. Especially the expanded version they did with Sound System. Wasn't the live mixing awful on Sound System? I thought only on the separate Lyceum tracks. The FHTE was the same mixes, plus the two added songs....

Re: Marky Dread Remasters

Paradiso and Sun-Plaza both sound great, Marky. Paradiso is extra special as MJ sings Complete Control. The Tokyo radio/TV stuff has never sounded this good. Is Should I Stay really audience? Sounds more like the broadcast stuff than the other audience songs.

100 Club from August has never sounded better. Especially the drums. Thank you once again.

Re: Marky Dread Remasters

The '83 "tour" had great setlists. It was like the Clash's imperial phase, except it only lasted a few weeks! I also prefer Topper, but agree that Pete was very good.
