Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Paul Hicks used to do Beatles remasters but Giles Martin has worked with Sam Okell for many years now. Hicks did the John Lennon remixes and still produces all the Lennon reissues (with Sean and Yoko).

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Just listened to the demo of X-Ray Style. What a beautiful song.

Here's a link to a clip of Ian Rubbish doing Hey Policeman! I picked one where Fred is singing rather than drumming. https://mega.nz/file/Y4M3TYYY#MyJBHa1HMfEI3e_M_kxgZMIzgq8aK1WcdskQr1fdP7U Here's a very short one of It's A Lovely Day with Fred on drums & singing a guide vocal. https://mega.nz/fil...

Re: Is Teddy B really MJ...

I can confirm that Teddy B is not Mick… but, with that said, I have yet to be in the same room with them, just a few near misses… on second thought, something might be afoot 😆 Same building though, right Sonny? 😉 BTW, I do so wish they’d released all the music and footage from that Ian Rubbish sess...

Re: Is Teddy B really MJ...

Ha! Just good mates. Mick wouldn't waste this much time online. Here's a fun picture of me without a hat at Electric Lady studios with MJ, Paul (in a hat!) and Ian Rubbish (aka Fred Armisen). Matey, I wouldn't say I look much like Mick, hairline aside. And Flex, as for IMCTers, Gil's been in the sam...

Re: Raw Power Remixed

Cool! Thanks Marky. I sure wish James had gotten to remix this from the multi-tracks. He and the late Ed Charney did a fantastic job on Kill City. Much better than Iggy’s iffy remix job on this album, though the vinyl version of that is much better than the practically unlistenable CD they released...

Re: Rob Peter Pay Paul

I didn't know about a proposed album, and wish it had gone ahead. Was there a track listing that was finalised? These working demos/outtakes were compiled as a basis for a proposed album in 2011. As I've posted before, the untimely passing of Gerry Harrington, who was managing the band reunion in t...

Re: Rob Peter Pay Paul

After seeing Marky’s lyrics, let me amend something I said. I checked my files and BAD did record the song in question. I have it as “In For A Penny”, though again Mick told me it’s “The Return of the Great Consumer”. I hadn’t realized it’s the same song. It’s like how “Tyson” was the working title ...

Re: Rob Peter Pay Paul

No, it was originally an outtake from Tighten Up Vol. 88. Do we know how many more other unheard outtake tracks exist for tighten as well as all the other albums including Bad II. I mean i dont want an accurate listing of course but would there be enough for a whole album ? or maybe more ? I'm pret...

Re: Joe Strummer 002 coming soon

Joe’s estate does not control the records that came out previous to his deal with Hellcat. Anything from the 80’s soundtracks and Earthquake Weather included on 001 was licensed for that box by Dark Horse. This is also the probable explanation for credits being assigned individually for the 1983/84 ...
