Re: Totally Radical! The All Encompassing Thread of 80s Awesomeness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOIjcUwiuso Sort of a classic early 80s story here, The Kinks have their biggest US hit mostly on the heels of a quality (Julien Temple directed) music video and MTV (of course, also a great song, but they have a lot of those). Also, sort of ironic that this very Eng...

Re: Totally Radical! The All Encompassing Thread of 80s Awesomeness
All 6 of their 80s albums are solid. Are we still talking about Iron Maiden? No they released 7 albums in the 80s. All are terrible. Somewhere a single tear spontaneously rolls down Wolter's cheek. The kids with cut off jean jackets and Iron Maiden patches were always seen as muppets around the are...

Re: Thread of Dreams
I should note a very disjointed dream from last night. It was a mishmosh of scenes that didn't fit together. The parts that I still recall involve the Boss and I buying a retirement home—more like a small estate—in France because it was absurdly cheap. And then we found something even better in Spai...

Re: Totally Radical! The All Encompassing Thread of 80s Awesomeness
There's a certain band from Basildon that happened to release three killer albums in a row during the 1980s. All 6 of their 80s albums are solid. Are we still talking about Iron Maiden? No they released 7 albums in the 80s. All are terrible. Somewhere a single tear spontaneously rolls down Wolter's...

Re: Big Foot
Yeah this is why I rarely help people with IT stuff. Because most people see you do some clicking and typing commands and they think, "that's nothing special, I could do that". I'll help some family and friends but for the most part it isnt worth my time.. If I dig a deep hole its easily quantifiab...

Re: Big Foot
When my son was little he would come home from school with these books. Like monster and hero fantasy stories. In each book the hero had a new sidekick as he went on a quest to kill the monster that was plaguing a village. Very much a formula, different monster, sidekick and village but more or les...

Re: Big Foot
Who the fuck writes shit like that? It's a skill to be able to do that. There was a notable scifi writer in the 50s or 60s who, apart from his more serious, creative writing, could pump out trashy novels of maybe 30–40K words in length every four days or so. It was easy money for him and, he said, ...

Re: MLB 2024
Wow, Houck did his own research on how to pitch a Maddux and succeeded. Against a decent team, no less. Yeah, he's starting to make it hard for me to completely despise him. I'm still doing it, but I appreciate the performance. I lean to the "sell sell sell" side, but all I want is to like my team.
