Mick and Joe - guitar strings incident?
Hey all, I seem to recall an account that either Mick or Joe gave, wherein Joe, apparently disgusted with the sound FX slop house that Mick was perfecting throughout 1982, put his hands over Mick's guitar strings to stop him from playing. First- am I remembering these (admittedly sparse) details cor...

You're welcome.
Joe really sounds full of it-he was, of course-but it was an interesting listen nonetheless.

Joe-1984 interview
http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com/dt/joe-strummer-concert/20050866-3440.html Not sure if this has been posted here before. I found it just a few minutes ago. Interesting stuff, although I'm still in the first fifteen minutes. Apparently Mick is interviewed at some part. Edit: Okay, so I just heard ...

...and now B.A.D. is starting to make a little bit of sense. Does anyone know how much of an influence it was on Mick? I know some people have argued that Bernie was an influence on CTC, but what of Mick?

Re: Forgive me if this post is stupid, but...
I think Paul is supposedly sick of the retelling of the Clash, which might explain why he wasn't a part of TFIU. To be honest, I've always thought Paul was the worst at keeping up with the company line, so to speak. Or maybe it's like he said at the end of WttW-there isn't anything else to say.

What if Mick knew how to program his guitar FX properly? Then where would 1982 fall on the list of things we wished had never happened?

Re: Calling Chairman Ralph
Not to derail this discussion, but can either Ralph or Ikaris provide a rough outline of Mick's departure from the band, and the ensuing legal battle between Mick and the Clash?

Re: Thoughts on The Clash never reforming
First, I think in many ways it is a given that any Clash reunion would have to have occurred before Mick's illness forever altered his voice. It's been said before, but Mick's voice post-1991 (or whenever it happened, I thought it was '91) was not in any shape to be doing Clash material without soun...

Re: Nice clash pics
Paul had it lightly buzzed for the US Fest but not as awkwardly short as '84, so maybe shortly after the tour (Joe was still growing out and erasing last vestiges of mohawk on the tour itself). Joe didn't do the red dye job and re-mohawk until right when Clash II was making its live debut and he re...

Yeah, probably. I had forgotten about that.Rat Patrol wrote:
Probably same day as that other photo that surfaced of him drunk off his ass in a bar in the same shirt and hat. Was one of the Texas tour dates.
And you're welcome, Heston.
