Failed vice presidential candidate which paved the way to one of the most reprehensible presidencies in history. Fuck that guy. But he was "in...

Re: I can't stand the blues
The Paramount material is possibly some of the finest in records music, it's a shame that all were left with are copies of horribly pressed and damaged 78s and the like. But there's been amazing restoration work done on it. Great story and local insight WWK.

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread
I've been seeing more and more of "this [album] turns [year] today" pieces of late. Is it more a case of an easy way to generate content or the sense that we're regarding music/culture in the past tense now? I assume it's more the former, but can't dismiss the latter. It's just clickbait nonsense. ...

Re: Caraway Seeds = The Devil's Seeds
There I said it. No doubt there are some here who will champion their cause but fuck I cant handle the taste nor odor. Why is this coming up you ask? A friend gave me some bread she made and it is full of them. I tried a small piece and came close to vomiting and had to spit it out. No doubt next t...

Re: I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
Very occasionally we accidentally leave our garage door open for a while but no one has yet taken it upon themselves to haul away all of our useless crap for us.

I love old bootleg cassette art and whatnot, there could be some real aesthetic creativity to some of that stuff.

Re: I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
These days, I keep my door locked unless I'm expecting company or working in the yard. The gas station around the corner, 250 steps away from me, gets robbed at gunpoint every year or so, but I'm not particularly worried about anyone breaking into my house. I've just gotten into the habit of lockin...

Re: I can't stand the blues
AC/DC a pretty decent shout imo. A lot of the focus understandably on Angus, but for me the key was always that tight blues based rhythm section. And Bon could sing the blues proper when he wanted to, Brian maybe not so much. Yeah, some really great electric blues rock tunes on those early LPs. I t...

Re: I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
We keep it locked because otherwise our little guy would just walk off and head to the playground. It's completely changed my door locking behavior. So I'm a "yes" but not really for crime worries. I grew up with the door never locked during the day or often at night. On the other end, my father in ...
