Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

A (possibly) interesting argument to be had: Which decade's dreck (of the rock era) is the worst? I am intrigued if we compare 85-89 vs 96-00. Five year segments seem to represent full movements more tightly than whole decades. I think hair metal and nu metal would largely cancel each other out and...

My favorite response was just some rando: “bro what are you smoking hhahahaha” which seems like the most appropriate response.

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Creed’s album went platinum 11x. That is stunning. Appalling. Stunpalling. I dont understand how it is possible. Seriously. I would have thought one of the ones Marky listed would have been bigger. Stone Temple Pilots Rage Against The Machine Soundgarden Pearl Jam Those bands all put up huge number...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

10 bands who wouldn’t exist without Korn. Shrug. https://www.loudersound.com/features/10-bands-who-wouldnt-exist-without-korn At one point in the late 90’s Korn were the biggest band in popular music, Is there any truth to that statement? I really don't know I ignored much of the 90s. If true Flex ...

So I'm basically home alone saturday night. What's a great scary movie that came out in the last year or two that I should watch? Wife is busy so gore is not an issue.

Re: For all of us Shitallica fans

I think Hetfield's voice is a weak point for the band and I think the Load era emphasizes his vocals too much. Plenty of songs I liked at the time and still think are pretty good, but the general direction exposed some weaknesses.

Re: The Dizzle and Jimmy Jizzle's Thread o'Bruce

Good to see you back in our thread! I mean, stylistically, I prefer it to those awfully dated drum machines and barely perceptible but omnipresent string arrangements of the Brendan O'Brien days. I just don't have much interest in what is essentially a nostalgia record. In the last 20 years,...

I shake my head at conservative Jews who act like there's no longer any antisemitism on the right any more because Republicans are reliable supporters of Israel. If Israeli politics ever swings leftward, we'll see very quickly the antisemitism that's simmering amongst proper Republicans. Agreed. Th...

Okay, so I'm probably the biggest proponent of clap tracks out there, but the RoB cover has to be the WORST clap track I've ever heard.

I haven't been able to contribute lately,. so I wouldn't feel right posting five Depeche Mode songs.
I'm okay with that. Could use more DM exposure. I don't think we have any real rules here.
