Re: The KISS thread

Good on Gene for not letting that get to him, at least in the performance.

I feel like women are underrepresented in this band. I nominate Lana Del Ray (aka Elizabeth Woolridge Grant).
What are her issues? I like some of her tunes.

Re: The All-Asshole Band

I was trying to remember if Kid Rock had met Nugent. They are both assholes, both from Michigan. How quickly I had forgotten:

I actually support Lars for drummer, but I think Ginger Baker deserves at least a nomination. Total shithead.
OH yeah, that's a good one. Mo Tucker's just seems like old white people shit and she's not famous enough for it to reverberate like Clapton.

Re: The All-Asshole Band

I'm nominating Lars Ulrich as the drummer. It takes a bold dick to claim outsider status yet also side with record industry against the fans. His voice doesn't help perception of him either. Napster stuff is pretty indefensible though. Beyond that he seems alright. Not sure who else would get it be...

Re: The Beatles song you're thinking about right now thread

Anyone know what the general anticipation is from Beatles fans on the Peter Jackson doc? How much of this footage was previously seen? Is this holy grail kinda stuff?

I made a great leaping play on a line drive over my head saving two runs but later missed a shoe string line drive to my right and that's all I can think about The boos from the crowd were heard here in Ottawa. https://highlandsiscalling.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Telly-Savalas-Who-Loves-Ya-Bab...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Paul McCartney on the Stones: "I'm not sure I should say it, but they're a blues cover band, that's sort of what the Stones are," said McCartney, adding: "I think our net was cast a bit wider than theirs." This feels a bit petty. It's not like the Beatles just appeared out of nowhere. They were a 1...

Thoughts and prayers to the usual suspects in this thread: https://www.avclub.com/smash-mouth-singer-steve-harwell-is-leaving-the-band-1847847444 A bit sad how messy he has been. Hopefully he gets some help. His timeline matches up well with Jani Lane - have commercial success then play nostalgia c...

Yeah, metal ballads are bad, but at least they are hooky and you gotta like some bad music right?
