Re: Post your own music

I'm late to the party (not even fashionably so :disshame:) and only finally realizing that I haven't sat down with this. I'm only halfway thru, but this has got to be the best record you guys have done yet. Nice and tight, seriously tuneful and loaded with energy. You guys must be dynamite live. Se...

Ghosts is amazing but the live version from Dig the New Breed is where it's at.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

About The Call Up would like to Know if Ivan Julian plays the guitar, then what Mick and Joe play on that Song? Someone knows? And why is Ivan Julian who plays the guitar? He contributed to create this Song? There is at least two guitar tracks on there. From what I recall they jammed on the song fo...

Re: Shea Stadium CD

Police On My Back was pretty good.

It's a shame one of those great Terry gigs like Troy or Kent State wasn't pro-recorded.

Sigh. What could have been. Maybe in another timeline.

Fucking amazing. Gives me hope for a full 84 show.
We can't even get a full '80 show.
We did get an abridged greatest hits show without the classic lineup 14 years ago.
Fuck, was Shea 14 years ago? Damn...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Cool footage. Definitly that busking tour was the best idea Joe had at the time retrospectively this group should have been called differently and that would surely have played in its favor. Personally I'm not attracted to this incarnation, but it's precisely because of that. because with joe as a ...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Gateway Exchange sounds like it could be some sort of drug centre for heroin addicts. Those needle exchange places were rife where I live in the 80s. I could be totally wrong though.

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

I'll take this opportunity to ask what Mikey says in the Crooked Beat. Sounds like... Waaaah! It's the prayer, it's the plague Noooooo! It's the dub wise styleee! Also his little bit at the start of One More Time. The last bit sounds like "unite and stop your killing and your fight...fight...fighti...

Re: SANDINISTA! CURIOSITIES

On "Shepherd's Delight" It's Mikey Dread using squeaky toys that have been manipulated with studio effects. I'm still convinced there's some human voices in there amongst Mikey's toys. Only Mikey at the break and Joe before the plane noise at the end. All the rest are squeaky toys. The question was...

Re: Clash busking in Edinburgh

Love it - classic comedy when Joe hangs upside down from the gate and then the two doors open! I laughed out loud, especially the close-up of him still singing as he was spilling onto the pavement. Awesome video. It really is great. Joe's charisma is still well intact. What a performer he was.
