Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2021 edition

A bit late but very sad news about the passing of Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud. She went to the High School just down the road from where I live and a few of my now grown up lacrosse juniors went to school with her. Yes, very sad. One of those manufactured bands who actually had some decent songs...

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread

Just watching "The Great North Run" and spotted a lad in a flat cap, wearing a "Frankie Says Relax" t shirt. He was smoking a tab and carrying a pot noodle. Guilty as charged but you never mentioned my whippet. That poor dog was dragging behind you. You've been feeding it too many pot noodles. Whip...

"The Great North Run" = 13 mile half marathon from Newcastle to Gateshead.
Newcastle to Newcastle yesterday. But usually Newcastle to glorious South Shields. Apparently it's reverting back to normal next year.

There’s pop good and not pop good, and no matter how good not pop good is, Heston will not like it and I don’t expect otherwise.
I do like music other than pop but I have no time for repeated passages that go on for 18 minutes.

I'm seven minutes into Animals and this is drearier than I remembered.
Its probably better when you're high.
I'd had a joint. No one can say I didn't try.

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough
Get On the Floor
Off the Wall
Workin' Day and Night
Rock with You

Love the disco stuff on it, not so keen on the soppy bits. Overshadowed by Thriller but some great songs you never hear on the radio.

From memory Animals is my favourite PF album. Not sure why I chose to listen to The Wall.

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

I don't know why but I had the urge to listen to some Pink Floyd tonight. Maybe nostalgic reasons. I put The Wall on and though it's 35 years since I heard it I remembered every song. I get why people like them but they desperately needed an editor. Some good stuff but long dreary passages of utter ...

Re: The Manic Street Preachers Discussion MegaThread

Quick Manics question: A few years back I heard a remixed version of Stay Beautiful on the radio. It sounded much better than the original release, does anyone know where this might exist? Possibly the remixed version from reissued Generation Terrorists album. Sounds clearer than the original relea...
