Re: The IMCT Travel/Suggestions Thread
Watch your purse. It's funny you say this cos I was actually ripped off for 20 pounds today...some guy came and bought a ciggy off me while I was hanging outside salford lads and then he's like 'do you smoke weed' and I'm like 'yes' so I bought what i thought was weed and when I got home to my hote...

Re: The IMCT Travel/Suggestions Thread
tbh I was starting to feel a bit doubtful yesterday with how bloody bleak Salford seems to be (around my hotel at least), but today I did a good walk around town and went into a record store and now that doubt is disappearing as I'm starting to recognize neighborhoods and streets from books I've rea...

Re: The IMCT Travel/Suggestions Thread
I'm in Manchester now...arrived this morning, it's been kind of a shite day cos I arrived at 8:45am and the check in time for my hotel wasn't until 2 so cue my jetlagged disoriented self wandering around Salford/Manc for 5 hours. Also one of the closest pubs to where I'm staying (in Salford btw) is ...

Re: Stone Roses re-unite.
It's actually kind of funny, a couple weeks back a friend of mine met Mani and he told her about the reunion and told her not to tell anyone but she told me anyway I didn't really think it was real but now.......... this together with the recent (albeit partial) New Order reunion and the fact I'm le...

Re: The IMCT Travel/Suggestions Thread
I don't know if any of you would be able to answer this, but do any of you know where I can find rare-ish Smiths/Morrissey stuff in Manchester, like is there a website I can look at or something? My new boyfriend is an outright Morrissey nut (he's seen him 13 times and the Smiths twice) and I promis...

Re: So what's your concert schedule looking like?
I haven't talked about the Human League gig on here yet. It was a fuckin solid set, man. I was expecting to have to walk out half way through, but they were great and played a nice mixture of the old and new. They also had this female synth player/guitarist/keytarist who's appearance kind of reminde...

Re: So what's your concert schedule looking like?
The baffling thing is, which might make the Human League gig interesting, is that they're not playing on the Granville strip or in one of the stadiums like every other band of their ilk that comes here, instead they're playing the Rickshaw which is an ill-constructed theater which has been converted...

Re: So what's your concert schedule looking like?
I'm thinking of going to see the Human League on Sunday, but I dunno....this plus seeing OMD on the 30th might be a little too much '80's in one month, man.

If anyone cares I'm going to Manchester for the last week of October. Next payday i'll finally have enough for a ticket. I'm only going for a week though for the key purpose of seeing the city before I move there.

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread
Today i went to that middle-aged guy I'm dating's apartment for the first time and he lives in, ahem, one of those 'low-income' apartments in downtown eastside where you have to be on welfare to be there and god the rent is $350, they're allowed pets, smoking, and drugs, free laundry and cable, a r...
