Re: Let it out - embarrassing stories about yourself...
When I was a kid I performed an elaborately choreographed song and dance routine in front of 100+ fellow Cub Scouts and their parents. My fly was down.

Re: The Punk Road to Damascus
A year later Dale got seriously into Rush and sold off most of his record collection, which I bought. How does someone go from punk to Rush? Christ, that's devolution (without ending up at Devo). Yeah, that was/is a real head scratcher. Short answer is Dale played the bass & got obsessed with Geddy...

Re: The Punk Road to Damascus
My punk Damascus moment happened within a week of my freshman year in college. Up until then my record collection boasted the usual late 70s-early 80s rock stuff - Styx, Pink Floyd, ELO, Skynyrd, etc. I have a brother who's 4 years older but that didn't help since he was into the same kind of music....

Re: First Songs You Remember Hearing
This is the first record I remember listening to in 1968 (I was 4). It included "Snoopy vs the Red Baron" and "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter", performed by the Peter Pan Pop Band & Singers. I still really like "Mrs Brown" (the Herman's Hermits version): 7438982E-A8BA-44FB-BDF6-5D3B6BA9E205...

Will they finally pry that pen from his cold dead hand, or will he just be buried with it?

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5
1. All Tomorrow's Parties
2. Waiting for the Man
3. Venus in Furs
4. Heroin
5. Run Run Run
You could randomly shuffle the order of 2--5 and I'd be okay with it but ATP stays at the top - it's probably my favorite song from the 1960s.

Re: The Mr. & Mrs. Tepista "Everything's Bigger in Texas" Thread
We've done something similar. My job of 24+ years went away (thanks covid) so we sold our house 'cos the market's crazy & we didn't want to live in Georgia anymore. Moved to Winston-Salem 2 months ago. We love it here. No job for now (I'm taking a "gap year" as the kids say). Making art, enjoying s...
