Can't believe this was a decade ago. Feels like yesterday. What a show that was.

Re: Got Any Cool Vinyl?

Spent quarantine starting a record collection. I was surprised at how cheap it was to build a respectable bedrock collection of staples (London Calling, the best of Hank Williams, Gil Scott Heron, stuff like that). So these were the spendy ones you're probably not gonna find outside of discogs: The ...

And yeah, I'd bet on Jerry having killed somebody. Now he's fully mellowed out into "absent-minded grandfatherly southern aristocracy who's gonna live to 105 just to piss off his kids" mode, but you can still tell a little bit.

How do I go about this? Just private message him on Facebook? Post to his wall? I no longer have any idea how that site works.

Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2021 edition

One of the last big things I did before lockdown was see The Long Goodbye at the Egyptian. Elliott Gould was there and gave a little talk after, and he cut it short to say he was getting dinner with Norman Lloyd, "and who knows how many more chances I'll get, he's 104." Dude lived two whole years af...

Re: The De-Berniator

Not that anyone asked, but damn it I continue to have outlet-less thoughts on this: I re-listened to Cut the Crap and this during my walk this morning and just thought about the dynamics that led to that album getting made, and what the hell anybody thought they were doing, and whether it ever could...

Re: The De-Berniator

This thing is amazing. I am truly in awe of how well this was executed. In a perfect world, this is what that album would have sounded like if they recorded it live right after getting off the road. Now I have the satisfaction of hearing that instead of frustratedly imagining it all the time. It's f...

Where's a link to the CTC live chat from last year? That was one of the greater achievements of the Christian era. 0 BC: Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, is born. 1980 AD: Burt Reynolds stars in "Smokey And The Bandit II" 2010 AD: EET week live chat forever changes mankind's conception of g...

New X album, maybe this year.

I'm excited. John just posted a picture of Robby Krieger, who plays on a couple songs. As anybody who has seen them in the last five years can attest, they are as good as ever and their recent shows are some of their most interesting. They put out a 45 recently of two re-recorded songs and you could...

Hopefully this gets us closer to the Streetcore demo tapes. I still replay that album, or at least Coma Girl and Get Down Moses, all the time. Perfect car music.
