Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread
I think once you're done with your primary schooling, you basically don't need to be exposed to popular music at all if you don't want to be, so the idea that revbob (or anyone) wouldn't know a bunch of pop hits once they became middle aged adults isn't that surprising. I mean, I know fuck all abou...

Re: Commercials We Hate
I had an English prof—amazing teacher, funny as hell and very insightful—who observed of people who had bumperstickers that said "I love my car," what does that say about their emotions for living creatures? Almost all "car people" that I know - not, like, classic car nerds but just people who want...

Re: Commercials We Hate
There's an audi commercial where a mother and son are trying to pick which customized nighttime driving lights the car will have. I can't find it on YouTube but it's playing constantly on MLB.tv right now. I hate it for two reasons: 1. I hate the increasing non-standardization of driving lights, whi...

Re: I need a good boffin.
Question for, probably, revbob, but maybe others: Is there a sensible reason why some days my home wifi is stupid slow on the 2.4GHz channel but good on 5GHz, then other days it's reversed? Just no rhyme nor reason as to whether one channel will be hobbled. This sounds like a question for RFK Jr. T...

Great pics, and stories! Here's me and the Little Duder for his first eclipse. IMG_20240408_175637.jpg Wait, you have a kid? Get with the program already I thought this idea that people here have kids has been some kind of long-running gag, like the earth being a globe. The kids are as real as the ...
