Re: How did I not know there was an official Strummer - Pogues live album
If anyone wants the other Pogues boxset ('Just Look Them Straight In The Eye') you can get it as a download for £7.49 MP3 / £12.49 higher-res. Or you can just pick off the interesting tracks, e.g. Afro Cuban Bebop http://www.junodownload.com/search/?q%5Bartist%5D%5B%5D=%22the+pogues%22 I still can't...

Re: Glyn Johns' Book
Great stuff white man! Thanks for taking the time to take the pics and upload 'em.
I've never seen Glyn Johns's book anywhere and this certainly scratches an itch I had. Interesting stuff, and probably reinforces some commonly-held assessments of the Strummer-Jones machine.

Overend struck me as a key part of the Mott chemistry - certainly, at the 2009 reunion gigs!
A true character - RIP Mr Watts.

And/or the BOX SET (Joe audio stuff) Luce was supposed to be working on. Re. Sound System being the last word... let's face it, we all know there's tons of pro-quality stuff available for another 'legacy' 'heritage' 'anniversary 'release. Never mind the archive stuff - audio or video - that is NOT c...

Re: Most listened to songs/artists/etc of 2016
I listen to something different everyday. This year I have bought more music than ever before. Most played maybe The Fallen Leaves and of course Bowie. Sounds like me - too much variety to ID an overall trend, but I bloody love the Fallen Leaves and gave their compilation LP a few spins this year!

Re: Tin Pan Alley Tales - film about London's Denmark Street
Central London is a giant building site, and has been for years. I'm all for cities moving on and developing, but the scale of what is going on in recent times just beggars belief. You don't get the sense that a project is ending at all - just more and more stuff gets closed down and then either dem...

Tin Pan Alley Tales - film about London's Denmark Street
Some people might find this of interest - a funding project to make a documentary about London's Denmark Street, which was once the home of music publishers offices, recording studios and later became the street full of instrument shops where every band bought their gear (and the Pistols lived/ rehe...
