Re: So...what did Paul actually play on?

I'd like to revive this discussion after listening to Rat Patrol so much lately. Is there any information on how many tracks Paul played on? I know we see him in that news report from Westway to the World playing on KYR, and I think that song was also the subject of the infamous mixing desk fight ov...

Re: My article on Rat Patrol from Ft. Bragg

Ah, excellent, thank you. This is what I was looking for, but I didn't realize it existed since all the ones I've seen just mimic CR and then tag BP, KT, FNBIL and CC at the end. I'm in the process of cleaning up what I have and doing a re-sequence. I will post it when I finish it. Awesome! I'm lis...

Re: Futurama

Burned through the entire series in the last few weeks. Had never gotten around to watching the last season and a half or so.Watched as a piece, it's actually really satisfying how well the revived seasons play next to the original run. I love all these characters so, so much. What a remarkable sho...

Re: My article on Rat Patrol from Ft. Bragg

I'm listening to (I think Marky's) remastered Rat Patrol and wondering if anyone has a favorite running order that I can try out. This thread has totally got me obsessed with this album.

Re: What Are you Eating Right Now?

Saturday lunchtime treat. Make some toast then put some thinly cut Cheddar or Edam on the top still cold. Then put hot baked beans on the top and let the beans melt the cheese as you eat it :approve: Quicker than a Welsh Rabbit too! Yeah that's made hungry already. :approve: I had rabbit tacos last...

Re: My article on Rat Patrol from Ft. Bragg

It's hard to compare the two when all we have is that murky tape of Rat Patrol. Also, was that Mick's finished mix? It could have been a rough working mix of his vision for the album, I don't think it was ever confirmed one way or another. It was his proposed mix, which was rejected. A good percent...

Re: The Clash was a mod band.....apparently!?

Yep. Not sure who was using who the most. Blair trying to buy votes or Gallagher trying to sell records? Blair. Gallagher was in Disneyland for the whole of that era, pilled up and grinning. I don't think anyone saw a guy holding a champagne glass next to the predatory eel Blair and thought, "God, ...

Re: My article on Rat Patrol from Ft. Bragg

Very nice review Casey. I think it's not quite fair to say only Mick new about production because Joe had produced The Little Roosters album in '81. More traditional R 'n' R /R 'n' B than Rat Patrol of course. Mick was great a bringing in new sounds to The Clash with his wack attack hip hop and syn...

Re: My article on Rat Patrol from Ft. Bragg

Really great article, and I'm glad you hit on a point that I've always loved about the album. Previous albums featured a reggae song, a jazz song, a calypso song, a rock song. RP was a true fusion, and the first time the Clash really had their own original sound (what CK has called "Mongrel Rock" in...

Re: Heston's Friday Top 5

Picking some different from ones already mentioned ... 4 Jeff Beck - Becks Bolero I was thinking of that one on my drive to work today. I hadn't listened to it in years. No surprise these are mostly guitar driven tunes. Dick Dale - Miserlou Jeff Beck - Becks Bolero Link Wray - Jack the Ripper Pipel...

That is all.
Was it any good? I like the Mad Max movies and the missus is a big fan of Tom Hardy.
I thought it was spectacular. Visually stunning, and Charlize Theron is excellent. It's not very deep, but it's very intense. Go see it as soon as possible.
