The Ring didn’t do much for me. My personal favorite Japanese horror films are Cure and Pulse, both by Kiyoshi Kurasawa.

I finally watched Midsommar, great flick. Really, really right in my wheelhouse. Loved how it looked. I still haven't seen it. I was a bit put off by the director saying Wicker Man wasn't an influence and some of the discourse around him somehow elevating horror. I thought Hereditary was decent but...
