Re: Totally Radical! The All Encompassing Thread of 80s Awesomeness

Who were the biggest solo artists of the 80s? Michael Jackson probably is at the top of that list, but I'd put Phil Collins in 2nd place. Madonna's on the short list. The short list of suck. Maybe the 80s were the worst what with Collins and Bruce Apart from a couple Madonna songs, I'm good with ne...

Re: A defense of Eric Clapton.

I actually think Eric "blacks are doing vaccines as mind control" Clapton's non-solo stuff is mostly pretty good: cream, blind faith, Derek, his work with the yardbirds, power station . But he's such a piece of shit I'm not usually moved to revisit any of it. KKKlapton was in Power Station? Sorry, ...

Re: MLB 2024

Just tuned in to the Yankees-A's and it seems Boone got tossed by the home plate ump because somebody sitting behind the dugout was chirping and the ump thought it was Boone. Good times!

Re: Totally Radical! The All Encompassing Thread of 80s Awesomeness

The 80s were the Phil Collins era The Phil Collins part of it, anyway. Heston would back me up here From Wikipedia In total, his work with Genesis, other artists, and solo resulted in more US top-40 singles than any other artist throughout the 1980s Explain the existence of Ian MacKaye. Again Im no...

Re: The Trump observations thread

Happy birthday to Iggleston Pop, who is 77 today, the same age as racist rapist and generally unpleasant man, Don Trump. That he has survived to reach that age—and still in good health—is so remarkable given how many of his contemporaries went so, so much sooner. I would read a Parallel Lives biogr...

Whenever I see photos of Donny Pumpkin sitting in court, I can't help looking at his hands and how, indeed, they are smaller than they should be.

Re: A defense of Eric Clapton.

I have very little use for Eric Clapton, but I do dig his Derek and the Dominoes LP. For a guy who has spent his career being maybe the biggest blues copiest (I think that's a word) around, this might be the only time he ever sounded like he understood what it felt like to have the blues. in this c...
