Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

My life is a complete lie. Well, that part where I thought all that happened at the first show. Still. The movies have poisoned history. Not that that's the case with you, but it certainly makes a cooler story. All movies or just the talkies? (I know what you meant, but I read your first sentence i...

Re: Middle age health thread for fatties

PNW heatwave means my first break from the regular exercise routine since March 2020. Hope it ends soon and I don't gain too much weight in the interim. Going to do some planks, crunches, and lifting, but can't go the whole mile. Will probably drop some calories to compensate.

Re: Rat Patrol 2LP acetate

I'm still seriously holding out for a deluxe reissue for next years anniversary. I do so hope we get that. Me too although now I just wonder if Mick will say “well now they finally have it, no point in an official release.” Let’s hope this doesn’t prompt that reaction. Sony was already proposing so...

Re: Whatcha reading?

28) Long Halloween - Loeb and Sale. 1996. Comic. Unlike most of the acclaimed Batman Canon works I've read, this has a genuine maturity. Not the stubbled grimdark, 14 year old boys power fantasy of a Frank Miller, but a sensitivity and heart which grapples with the costs of trying to do good in a b...

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/125567224/tiddlywink-stuck-up-christchurch-womans-nose-for-37-years I've never understood kids sticking things up their noses, probably the same kids that ate paste in grade school. I have two siblings and a daughter, none of them ever did such a thing. I knew a kid...

Re: Flex and Wolter's Den of Nerdly Awesomeness

Which X-Man is coming back from the dead? ALL OF THEM EXCEPT DESTINY A small price to pay for everyone else finally getting on Magneto's page for once, I say. I hope Mystique burns it all down. I like the new status quo too much. The last thing we need is them going back to that goddamn school.

Here's the artwork I made for the version I have. It has the info of who is on the tracks.
Is the Eddie Garcia credit just for OBF or do we know of him playing on other tracks?

Learning that things can get stupider? edit: Sensible speculation calculated that eight months/24 issues would take the book to issue 900 and fifty years from Amazing Fantasy #15. So, yeah, they'll do eight months of Reilly and then the triumphant return of Peter Parker. Yawn. I get it—their motiva...

Re: Flex and Wolter's Den of Nerdly Awesomeness

This was one of several nails in the coffin for me for nearly a decade. Onslaught was the other one for me. Re-reading it now, it's not actually that bad, but that's all retrospect. Learning that things can get stupider? edit: Sensible speculation calculated that eight months/24 issues would take t...

Re: Flex and Wolter's Den of Nerdly Awesomeness

https://www.cbr.com/ben-reilly-spider-man-return-peter-parker-death/ Oh good gravy, Ben Reilly is a solid character who I'm glad was resurrected, but recycling a quarter-century-old idea that *lots* of people hated the first time is beyond dumb. I like Reilly, hate the Clone Saga. I stopped reading...
