I like that and the other B sides from that era, that were also a Peel session.
Yep... IIRC, Half a Person, London and Is it Really So Strange were the others.

Re: The All Smiths/Morrissey Thread

I top five for today with the NME rankings: These Things Take Time (49) I Want the One I Can't Have (37) The Queen is Dead (6) Half a Person (31) Paint a Vulgar Picture (39) My biggest complaint here is TTTT barely scraping the top 50 The only 4 I could live without are the 3 instrumentals and Golde...

I'm loving the jokes going round about irving. How people are going to show up at his funeral and deny it's happening.

Re: The All Smiths/Morrissey Thread

How on earth is "I Want a Boy for my Birthday" ahead of anything when it wasn't officially released?

And Golden Lights ahead of Miserable Lie... or Wonderful Woman.... or Jeane.... or Handsome Devil... or I Keep Mine Hidden is making me quite cross.

Re: Drummer joke

https://thehardtimes.net/culture/dude-air-drumming-at-show-wondering-if-crowd-saw-him-miss-the-hi-hat-on-that-last-one/ It’s the fucking worst when I miss a hit or come in too early while air drumming. I don’t want people thinking I’m a lesser drummer! It annoys me that I have to listen to 'In the ...

Ticket is undoubtedly the weak link on the original album.
Although it manages to reference Ian Botham, which I always appreciated, as someone who played cricket.
'WG disgraced' is a great line too

Re: No. 10 Dubbing St.

Thank you for sharing, I am enjoying it. Just got to Ticket and I'm glad the earlier posts explained it! Here’s further info on why “Ticket” isn’t a straight up cover: “Don Letts in his own words said the lyrics were awful so I focused on his lines in the song that referred to the Jamaican/immigran...

I really love every track, many thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the dub versions.
I'm liking it a lot too... but a bit confused by "Ticket" - if you'd have given me 50 guesses as to what song it was, I don't think I'd have got there. I like it, but it's not Ticket.

Re: Your most wanted 'lost albums'?

There is a Pablo Cuckoo version too. Someone smarter than me might be able to work out who Pablo Cuckoo was? I'd love to know this too. The tape was supposedly to give Troy Tate an idea of what he'd be working with so I would guess it's a colleague of his. It was recorded at Joe Moss' warehouse so ...

Re: Your most wanted 'lost albums'?

I guess kinda sorta the Troy Tate version of The Smiths' first album might qualify in this area? Easily found as a bootleg, but maybe an official release would have some unheard nugget. That's a great shout. The debut album came out 40 years ago this month so they've missed a trick on an anniversar...

Re: Your most wanted 'lost albums'?

I know about the one that was going to come out before he got dropped from the label, but what's the other one? #1 Bonfire of Teenagers. This was almost a lockdown album. Brand new musicians, co-writers (although the only song released from it had a credit for Boz Boorer) and a new producer. #2 Wit...

Re: Your most wanted 'lost albums'?

Seems like everything I want to hear has been released in some form or another - except for those two Morrissey albums. TBH, I dread most releases from artists I like because I don't want them to sully what they've done in the past but I do want to hear the stuff Alain Whyte contributed to the secon...
