Re: The Clash observations thread.

I don't really go for 'reaction' videos but I love this one (and have been on a Nathan Brown rabbit hole ever since I saw it)

My God, but Kool Aid is so much better than the Globe, it's untrue. So inventive and playful.
I'm definitely in the Kool-Aid over The Globe camp too. Not a huge deal in it for me but for whatever reason I always go to KA first.

I haven't seen it in years but I remember really disliking the 3rd series because they turned Dave into an out-and-out idiot rather than the lazy jack-the-lad he was before.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?

Apologies in advance because this might be a bit rambling... Back when Bunch of Fives started one of my choices was Jonathan Fire*Eater with Give Me Daughters. If you remember the song, you might recall Stewart Lupton's slurred singing is not the easiest thing to decipher... and Give Me Daughters is...

Re: The Global War on Culture Box Set

FWIW, there are apps that let you resume mega.nz downloads. I'm using one called megatools. $ megatools dl <URL> then, when you reach the quota exceeded message, wait 12 hours or whatever the delay is and you can resume where you left off by re-running the command. To be honest, it can be confusing ...

Re: Currently watching.

I think RATM have plenty of great agit-prop songs. It's telling that one of their simplest, dumbest and most ripe for abuse lyrics are also their most popular. Yeah, Rage are alright by me I've just heard too many awful stories about Tom Morello to give them a chance. He holds his guitar way too hi...

Re: Currently watching.

I fucking can't stand the inanity of "Killing in the Name," with its chant, "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me." Whatever it's intent to be a statement of protest, the assholes who loved screaming it were more like indulged brats who wanted to be shitheads and not bear any consequences. I can't...

Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2023 Edition

Daniel Boone (born Peter Green but took the name of the American folk hero) died earlier this year aged 80. He co-wrote the song I've heard probably more than any other in my life - Blue is the Colour.

This is a bit late, but I only just found out.

Re: Carbon/Silicon : Come One Come All

Is it just me or does the chorus of "Maybe That's the Meaning of Life" sound exactly like the chorus of the theme to "Toast of London"? I'd be very happy if Matt Berry was a MJ fan and borrowed/liberated it.

I saw them when them came to NYC, they were good, a little inebriated
I saw them in Atlanta and MJ talked about working their way through a barrel of Jack Daniels they picked up at the factory in Tennessee. I think they might have been a little inebriated for the rest of the tour.

Re: Carbon/Silicon : Come One Come All

Just noticed a mistake on the rear artwork. It should be "Barnes Wallis" not "Wallace". I'll have to rectify that when I get chance. I wasn't going to mention it but since you're fixing stuff :) ... I think it should be Leo 'E-Zee Kill' Williams rather than Easykill. Put me down as another who'd fo...
