Re: Topper with the Moors Murderers
I think it's more than open to interpretation. Vivienne used the swastika on a lot of designs. Malcolm's philosophy was "destroy in order to create". That's how I took McL's designs from that period—it was about razing the present before you could build something better. Tho I doubt McL had even th...

Re: Clash-related locations in London?
What happened to Mick Jones personal clash museum ? wasnt that down Portabella Road or something. I haven't heard this mentioned for years but i remember Mick saying it was going to be an on going thing.

Re: Would/Should/Could The Clash headline Glastonbury?
I was only half joking when i said Johnson was, or claims to be, a huge clash fan. I dimly recall the fucker bragging once about Joe sending him a letter when he was employed by the Daily Telegraph and another typically hilarious story about him punching his sister in the face during an argument ov...

Re: Would/Should/Could The Clash headline Glastonbury?
I had mentioned the McCartney duetting with a film a while back, if the Clash would try something like that i'd be down to watch/listen, but do I think they should, absolutely not. Its OK for McCartney to do that, he's earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants musically and professionally. ...

Re: Sex Mad Roar lyrics
Did they change the title of this for any particular reason ? When i saw them at Brixton i was certain Joe announced this as "Sex Mad war" and the bootlegs that came out afterwards also named them the same. Then it came out released as the word "Roar" instead but then again Joe was hard to understa...

Re: God Tier GEER version
I don't care how many times I hear London Calling (the song), it is an all time world beater. Just perfect. And they did play it well live sometimes. You and me both. My favourite Clash song, those first 15 seconds or so still produce shivers. Epic without being that forced U2 epic. Your both right...

Re: God Tier GEER version
In my heart of hearts of course i know London Calling is the better album but i have played LC to death since i was 15 and i just don't listen to the album anymore so if i wanted to put one of them two on right now i would choose Give em enough rope with out a doubt. I might be the only one to admit...

Re: Combat Rock 40th anniversary reissue coming soon?
I have been listening to this today and the second side i'm just not too excited about to be honest. Now i haven't listened properly to Combat Rock for quite a few years and always just think of it as the 5th best album the Clash did. But listening today i have just been reminded of what a great alb...

Re: I Turned Out A Punk
In the wikipedia article for f-punk it says: There is also a hidden track 3:47 into "I Turned Out a Punk" Have I been missing something for 23 years? They're just considering that extended outro part as an 'extra track' right? I think you are right about the extended outro part. Just played it. The...
