Re: The Manic Street Preachers Discussion MegaThread
https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/manic-street-preachers-lifeblood-20th-anniversary-reissue/ I'm on the fence about buying this one. The original was mastered well, so not sure what could be improved. I also already own the B-sides. That said, I'm glad this album is getting a reappraisal. It was ...

Re: Topper to Join ex-Motorhead Eddie Clarke and Pete Way - NME, August 1982
It became really "rock" for a few years in the 80s. I went every year from '78 to '98. All bar one year when it was cancelled. It was only half an hours walk from my house.

Re: Guns on the Roof - Word podcast
Cheers for this. Haven't listened yet but Hepworth is a notoriously smug wanker, who regularly panned the Clash in Smash Hits . Yep a total tosser. I listened and it just reminded me that I hate the pair of them. Both smug assholes. Hello, Total tosser is my new go-to phrase for idiots/assholes. :m...

Re: Previously unheard tapes. NYC Fayles Library. Update.
That undated Mick tape is extremely interesting. I remember Greg posting on the facebook group a pic of the cover to that tape, it’s the very first BAD demos right after TRAC didn’t work out. The TRAC tape too could potentially be better quality as well, both of those I’m highly interested in. Hope...

Yeah I remember reading that first time around.
Topper only rehearsed with the band for a few weeks before deciding against making it a full time commitment. Clarke and Way eventually recruited former Humble Pie drummer Gerry Shirley.

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5
It just dawned on me that that song seems very Aztec Camera. Schmaltzified, yes, but it has the feel of Roddy Frame's stuff, especially the first few albums. Hmmm I don't really hear that. But hey you do have special ears. I can't help but think your special here is like special olympics. 🤣 d...

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5
I thought I would give it another listen. It's pretty meh to my ears. Very easy listening stuff. Not surprised it was big in the states in '76 though. And I simply can't believe Medulla wasn't paying attention to that album cover. An album dedicated to a year of Peter Criss that even has his picture...

Cat People (Putting Out Fire) - David Bowie Cool Cat - Queen Year Of The Cat - Al Stewart Cool For Cats - Squeeze Wildcats of Kilkenny - Pogues I have never heard that song but feel like I know it really well because it always seemed to be a question in the NME crossword! I can almost guarantee you...

Re: Paranoid
You tell me. I expect one Duran Duran song sounds like the next to those revbob ears . However it's "Girls on Film" that has the camera sounds not "Rio". Well in the sense that they all sound terrible yes tbey do sound the same. And TBH I could have swore more of their catalog was littered with cam...

Re: Paranoid
See only a true fan can hear those camera sounds and know where they should be placed.🤣 Didn't DD use that in lieu of traditional percussion? You tell me.
