Re: The grocery store (and gas station) music thread

I love how Doc’s food choices sound like a less appalling version of Heston’s. Combine two random words and you are good. Hes has super noodles and doc has gum wine. Though both sound terrible but I know Heston’s is worse because England.

Re: The grocery store (and gas station) music thread

Not music, but I was just at the grocery store—cream milk and wine gums; I maintain the diet of champions—and the guy in front of me bought 8 jars of extra creamy Kraft peanut butter and two barbequed chickens. And that's it. There should be a hotline to call for that kind of suspicious activity, r...

Re: The Future of the Republican Party

Reading this made me feel like I had descended into literal madness: https://archive.ph/9NnRa I've got relatives in Arizona, I think it's something they spiked their drinking water with that's caused most of the residents to suffer from delusions. I'm there about 4 times a year and it's always pret...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Maybe it's my age and this is way off, but I feel like the stigma of popular music wore off in the early to mid 2000s. Like it always had a negative reputation relative to "better music" be it indie rock, jazz, various subsects of punk that are/were antithetical to punk. I think popular music has go...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

And Lady Gaga is actually sane. Plus nobody in Weezer has breathing problems. Breathing is fine, music sucks. You sound like an ardent Weezer fan. So their fans hate them too? More perpetually disappointed, but yeah. This is true. Also less surprised about Flo Rida since Rev was old enough when he ...

Re: Hey Flex (All Encompassing 90's Glorification)

... Though not being familiar with the big Daft Punk songs is really surprising to me. I know Rev is a special case, but I thought these songs were well known across the board. .. Just curious where would I have heard them? Ive been married since 92 and raising kids since 96, so there wasnt any clu...

Reading Festival, August1982... FB_IMG_1712683091669.jpg Very interesting. He was without a band, yet his song was riding high at the time. To be fair its real success was yet to come as it didn't go top ten in the US until early 83. It had reached a modest #30 in the UK a month or two previous to ...

Re: Flex's Takes: The Beach Boys

How did I miss that Brian had been diagnosed with dementia? I saw photos of him at a Lakers game the other night and he looked ancient. The accompanying article mentioned it was his first public outing since being diagnosed. This makes me very sad, though I'm not shocked. There had been news recent...
