Re: "Special guest ... Joe Strummer"
I was listening to this Damned show from October 3rd, 1982, in Reading and Captain Sensible announces Joe Strummer as a special guest at the end of the 10th track. He then apologized to the crowd when he couldn't get him up on stage. I have no idea if Joe was actually there or if Sensible was just ...

Re: "Special guest ... Joe Strummer"
Completely agree. They were on fire. I love the MCA period as well, but that initial run with the Captain-led band was incredible.

Re: "Special guest ... Joe Strummer"
Never mind. Captain Sensible must've been having a laugh. The Clash were in America that October. (I was just browsing their tour dates. I didn't realize they played in Vermont in '82. I knew The Clash II made it there, though.) Sensible was probably making a joke of the fact that The Clash were sta...

Re: Previously unreleased footage, NYC May/June 1981
I like the normie woman shyly chuckling "Clash" when Joe walks by in "81 05 -- Bonds, Joe, Gaby, Mick, Cosmo Going Out at Night from Hotel." It was kind of sweet to see someone star-struck by the guys.

Re: Earthquake Weather remixed remaster.
Hi Marky, but the song "Don't Tango with Django" from where does it come from? I wish say you a little curiosity, I'm listening a lot of material of Joe in these days and according the words of Joe during the night at the I-Beam San Francisco concert 17-11-1989, Island Hopping was written when Joe ...

Re: Without People You're Nothing
Thank you very much for these Marky. I had been sort of kind of planning on splitting the Norris tracks myself, so it's great that my halfhearted plan needs not be completed! I am thankful for that as well! It really fills in those wilderness years. Marky is that intro to the Permanent Record Sound...

Re: Walker Alternates & Outtakes
Thanks, TCR! And coincidentally I was literally listening to Trash City on the second disc of Marky's new Strummer set as I saw that you were nice enough to upload Walker.

Re: Without People You're Nothing
Good grief, man! This When Pigs Fly disc sounds superb. You removed layers of gunk off these gems! I had to go to this disc first because I've always had a soft spot for that "lost album" I heard about forever and then only had the muddy songs that circulated on cassette for ages, but I revisited it...

Re: Walker Alternates & Outtakes
Hi all, happy new year. Here are some alternates and outtakes from the Walker soundtrack. These tracks were taken from a tape kindly supplied by Steve Satch. I've remastered and speed adjusted the tracks. Enjoy. https://mega.nz/file/g4RgVZYQ#lCQHt3kqs3W58HmpLRqNX56NYA0jgRLIcB0MUlL-Z5U I'm arrived i...

RIP Keith Levene
I just saw where Levene has passed. Obviously he was an original member of The Clash and co-writer of What's My Name. When I first discovered punk and The Clash in the mid-90s I recall seeing his name in the credits and trying to hear any similarity to the few early PiL numbers I had heard, so at th...
