Re: New song from Simmo and Galen

I dig it! Really cool to hear Paul use his voice and the duet aspect really seems to work. Like a post-punk version of Nancy & Lee. The recording/production is waaaay better than the Havana 3 AM album!

Re: F-Punk [Dread Mixes]

Wow! Yet more fine work from you Marky! I have always been drawn to this album as it has a kind of a sloppy low-fi garage rock gone electronic feel to it. The muddy mix and no frills vocals though always kind of held it back. So great to hear some great guitar work from Mick now freed from the murk!...

Re: RIP Terry Hall

Hello, Okay, it's a cover but this is my go-to version of Pressure Drop. I have played this often in class before I start lecture. Is Terry on it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWweHBpscDU No he is not. This is from a half-hearted reunion album with Lynval, Neville and I think Roddy. The conventi...

Re: Without People You're Nothing

Road tested your new Strummer box set during a long road trip for the recent US holiday to rave reviews. While playing the Latino Rockabilly War live CD I noticed you did not include the BAD covers (V-13 and Sightsee MC)? Was this due to recording quality issues? I really love his versions of those...

Re: Without People You're Nothing

Thank you very much for these Marky. I had been sort of kind of planning on splitting the Norris tracks myself, so it's great that my halfhearted plan needs not be completed! I am thankful for that as well! It really fills in those wilderness years. Marky is that intro to the Permanent Record Sound...

This alone will make this set of yours incredible! This fills a gap in the wilderness years leading up to the Mescaleros period.

Re: Boots Galore - The Clash MEGALIST (reloaded)

Not a patch on Marky's work of courses but those JEMS master tapes transfers are usually pretty high quality for the kind of minimal touch up work that's allowed on trading sites. Yeah they are. I've got a few other JEMS tapes all solid. Though I think they have had a little post work on them. I'm ...

Re: London Calling Deluxe Box Set

Marky!! As always thanks yet again for your fine work! This sounds fantastic and I have been listening to it non-stop and have not even finished it! I keep playing the Vanilla sessions, really enjoying it for the first time as you managed to shed lots of the tape dampening and put some separation in...

Was Straight To Hell not the track where Joe (stupidly) attacked the camera man?
Yes. He says they'll film you taking a piss.
Explains why it was cut from the broadcast version.

Re: Tony Adams CD single

Excellent! And I take it back BMC a great help. Thanks Equaliser. If this is true then we now have the complete Glastonbury show! Just need to know where it fits in the set list. Encore or last track possibly? Setlist.FM has it as track #6 (first link I sent on this) Techno D-Day London Calling X-R...

Re: Tony Adams CD single

Maybe. I have the 12 track download but it would be great to get it confirmed. BMC doesn't help that much as it only lists the tracks filmed by the BBC. From Blackmarket Clash: (another clue) from dotmusic.com JOE STRUMMER & THE MESCALEROS PYRAMID STAGE, GLASTONBURY Gig played on Sat 26 Jun 1999 I ...

Here's the Straight to Hell listed as Glastonbury that I need help with. https://mega.nz/file/P7BFzbbR#jZ4cXRdDW5n4Wtway4PRNhxmtXj8LiAISwzbdFL8Fwc Maybe it is from Glastonbury just not included in the normal 12 track set? https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/joe-strummer-and-the-mescaleros/1999/worthy-fa...
