Bernie Rhodes' on a CTC retrospective

Fascinating: "I suggested to Rhodes (who has all the master CtC tapes and more - a LOT more) that he do a "Another Self Portrait" approach and release a big set that includes the cleaned up Nov. 83 demos, choice live cuts of the songs, the mountain of demos and, perhaps, more importantly, but sensit...

I mainly meant it would be great to have some pro recordings really good soundboards of Clash II. Perhaps the full tapes that resul...

Re: Video from Bonds Casino/NYC May/Jun 1981

"We shot one complete show with multiple cameras and a 24 track mobile recorder. We also shot most of every show with one camera and in house 8 track recording. The band wore the same gear every night and Topper was such a consistent drummer - and the band well rehearsed - that we were able to buil...

Re: Rebuilding my Clash library – best Sandinista! tour shows?

The sixteen track soundboard from 1981-05-10 Amsterdam and the great sounding audience tape and absolutely exemplary performance 1981-05-21 Milano shows are the first two to get. The 1981-05-16 show is another great one from this era. From the Bonds run the last show on June 13th is the favorite fo...

Rebuilding my Clash library – best Sandinista! tour shows?

Hi all, Sadly, I recently lost most of my (obsessively extensive) music library, inclduing most of my digital Clash collection, and am now rebuilding it. As one of my favorite periods was the time around Sandinista! and the related tours, I'd be very grateful for any tips on recommendations on which...

Re: Video from Bonds Casino/NYC May/Jun 1981

Concert movies have been constructed from way less (The Doors Hollywood Bowl for one, I expect there are more). This is fant...

Or are you after an official release? If so it ain't never gonna happen.
Yeah, I've got that memo... The official story of the Clash stops in the summer of '83. After that, please disperse, nothing to see here.

Re: Clash II Book Coming Soon...Summer 2013

Regrettably, I won't be doing any of the West Coast dates, for boring (economic) reasons. (...) More dates to come, I'm sure Any chance of a date in LA? The Last Bookstore in DTLA would be perfect for it. Last, but not least: Rolling Stone has made We Are The Clash the lead pick of its new books se...

Re: Boots Galore - The Clash MEGALIST (reloaded)

I've been listening to the 12/07/1984 Brixton Academy show, and I love it - it (I have the FLAC version) does seem to run a little fast though, can anyone confirm this? Or is it just the band having overindulged in the white lines department?
