Um, did you see my World Series prediction?

Addendum: I'm also going to predict that LAA performs more in line with their Pythagorean this year.

Re: MLB 2009

Okay, I don't think we've done it yet.. so it's picks time. As usual I go with a combination of what I'd like to see coupled with what I believe will happen: AL East: Boston Red Sox AL Central: Ehhh... Chicago White Sox AL West: Oakland Athletics AL Wild Card: Tampa Bay Rays NL East: Philadelphia Ph...

An interpretive dance montage of all 36 S! tracks? X( Someone from Snews will probably buy it and make love to it. Only if comes with addresses of his kids. This comment has the potential to start another pointless but hilarious Snews/IMCT pissing match. I drink to your continued good health, sir. ...

Re: The 80s: Where did it all go wrong?

I was kind of joking there, I love a lot of hip-hop and rap. There just seemed to be an optimistic bright new future in early 80s pop/rock music and it went very stale, very quickly. I think that just happens with every musical wave. I don't see many that lasted more than a few years and remained a...

Re: The 80s: Where did it all go wrong?

There were obviously some good albums, but there just seemed to be greater songs around generally in the early 80s. Lots of singles were poppy yet experimental and everything sounded so much fresher than the stale sounds of say, 1987. Only if you completely ignore hip hop, which is like saying 1977...

Re: The 80s: Where did it all go wrong?

Discounting all the classic hip hop from that era, we are left with Replacements, Appetite, Joshua Tree (which I rate below Achtung), Tunnel of Love, and some great Cure singles. So yeah, you may be on to something if you ignore one genre reaching or close to it's apex. The Meat Puppets and Sonic Y...

Re: The 80s: Where did it all go wrong?

Just taking a stab, here are a few albums from 1985 that went #1 and I think are pretty decent: Purple Rain - Prince and the Revolution Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen Songs from the Big Chair - Tears for Fears Those are just for albums that went number one and I like or at least appreciate. Off...

Re: Original Oil Painting by Paul on sale...

For a $30,000 starting bid, that better come with a free performance of Crooked Beat and Red Angel Dragnet. Hey, you can "buy it now" for $150,000, what you waitin' for? is exactly what I just yelled over and over again for a couple minutes when I cracked open a fortune cookie to reveal: "Love is the law, love under will." :scared: Shit, for a second I thought you'd found a soundboard recording from the Lyceum residency or maybe the Athens footage. Or a rare record...

Re: This thread won't make it past two pages...

I bought their pre-Fergie album back in the day because I thought I would like it. I did not. I thought I would like Jurassic 5 too, but they were just boring. My first experience with J5 was seeing them live and its probably one of, if not the, best live rap shows I've ever seen. The DJing was jus...
