Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread

Speaking of the rich, we need to listen to them because they have it all worked out. Remember, it was the working classes who had to pay for all the shenanigans that led to the 2007/8 financial crash and that's the way it has to be now. Sorry but that's just how the system works. https://twitter.co...

Re: Association Football Thread

Sad to say i have only just learned about the phenomenon that was Beverly Ranger. Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread

Well, if everyone took your attitude, we might be much happier, but what about the rich? Hmmm? No one ever thinks about what our desire for happiness and dignity means to them. I feel sorry for the rich. It must be tough never having enough. 🤣 The burden of millions in the bank, yet not enough time...

I don't feel like working today. Marky policy. "I don't feel like working permanently". Take it easy Mimi. Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

I remember buying the album that came in the black box when it came out and playing it quite a bit, but the only track i can recall is Big A, Little A. Really good track, tuneful, almost catchy even!

Re: The IMCT observations thread

Just out of idle curiosity, i did a search of Steve posts, saw the majority of the most recent ones were in the "Gun politics" thread and thought, nah, i'll leave it.

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread

I got a call at work, yesterday, from Hilton Honors. They were trying to sell me on a vacation package to Orlando. The guy was nice enough, so I didn't want to be a dick, but he also would not take no for an answer. I finally shut him down and the whole thing pissed me off. When did it become okay ...

https://archive.ph/KcYvI Foolish Irish, invading Canada is like invading Russia—you realize it's a goddamned wasteland 11 months of the year and regret your choices. Spectacularly ill-conceived alright. I kinda like the notion that we were plucky enough to actually invade someone, but seemed a tad ...

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

Also US = whiskey and Canada = whisky I'm guessing that that reflects a greater presence of Irish immigrants in the US, while Canada was historically Scottish. Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5

Other versions may have the 'e', but not Thin Lizzy. Isn't that the difference between how it's spelled in the states vs. UK? Don't know about the states, but in the UK it's Irish Whiskey and Scottish Whisky. Which makes the Lizzy record title using Whisky (in UK) at odds with the band's origins. A...
