Did you see the sequel? Wondering whether it's worth hunting down.
It's pretty good, still funny, but much more of the same. The real treat lies in the scenery.

Will you clandestinely deliver to WA? They're trying to shut them down here now.

Downside: Having an MRI scheduled at 3.40 am. Yes, in the morning, meaning that we had to get up at around 2.30 am. Upside: The exam actually began fifteen minutes early because, hey hey, there's not a lot of appointments for an MRI at three in the morning. There's socialized medicine fer ye. MURRI...

Re: NFL Mega Thread

So as some of you know, I live in Seattle and it's been quite annoying for the past two years with all the blind tribalism that goes on around here. Not looking forward to Sunday, but I could be convinced to watch if I was with other people that didn't have some ridiculous stake in the game. It's s...

Re: movies

I picked up the "live action" version on VHS a couple months ago with Kelsey Grammar as Napoleon. Looking forward to carving out some time to view it.

Re: movies

Days of Future Past is instantly my fave X-Men movie, though I'm quicker to believe in mutants and time travel than I am that there could be such thing as a midget professor. I actually didn't it mind it nearly as much as the others...surprising, in that it deviates from the source material as much...

Re: Subway Sect

I don't think it has appeared, and I get the feeling the sessions and/or Mr Rhodes' management style were so disruptive that maybe a final master tape was never assembled. As you say some tracks have surfaced on comps, but the band's Peel sessions get equal exposure, so I assume there's little else...

Agreed.
Megadittoes, Rush. The only exception is if the man has some kind of Satanic body odour that can not be defeated. Then masking that natural stench does become preferable.
Unless it becomes some kind of hybrid.

Subway Sect

There's a few tracks from SS's first shelved album on some various "Vic Godard and Subway Sect" comps which leads me to wonder whether the full album does indeed exist somewhere in bootleg form. Does anyone have any leads on this thing?

I've been getting into his post-Adverts work, it's all fairly decent. This one in particular I think is a step up from Cast of Thousands. Strangely, however, I keep catching subtle hints of Colin Newman-esque delivery or writing here and there.
